It's getting harder and harder to choose between them. Do I really want to spend an extra $150 Canadian for 2 years extra warranty and the ELite name and look? I might be sick enough to do it... darn it the 52TX looks so much classier, sleeker... sexy! yeah, that's it. It's sexier! :D
hmmm... my local dealer swears the 52TX shoudl sound better as Elite models always do. I tried telling him what I heard about it being the same amp but still claims there is always even a small difference in quality. anyone ever done a side by side?
Well actually here in Canada Elite Warraty is 3 years so already that is worth a lot to me. 52 TX I am paying $150 more but I get the Elite name, heavier amp (I assume better power source) 3 year warranty instead of 1 and multi room capabilities. awfully tempting...
Hmmm... now you got me thinking. Is the 1014 REALLY good and is the Elite 52TX equivalent OR is the 52 TX just barely an Elite just just a slight cut above the 1014. In other words how big the difference in quality between the 52TX and the next one up (54TX I think). decisions, decisions...
that's not a prob. part of the reason I am opting for the 52TX actually. I have been buying Elite products from them for the last 15 years so I am not worried.
well compared to that price I guess I would be paying $200 more for the 52TX but to be honest I cannot find a price match for that here localy. I called Pioneer and if I buy from the US, no warranty. I cannot find the 1014 for $600 here in Montreal or I would take it.
Looks like I will be opting for the 52TX. The difference is $150 from my local dealer and I like the look, name and the extra year warranty. It's a 3 year warranty on the Elite's. Did not need the multi-room but now I am sure it can find it's use. Now for speakers... My local dealer is...
Still deciding if the $150 extra for the 52TX is worth it. Do both of these offer connections for 7 speakers + sub or only 6 speakers. I hear 7 speaker set up is best for 6.1 to help rear imaging.
I might actually get the 52TX after all, local dealer tells me the difference would only be $150 more than the 1014. Might be worth it for the extra year warranty and multi room capability. no idea why I would need that other connection. RS232 or something right?
Now I know which amp to get but now what type of speakers? 4 towers and center or 2 tower for front, 2 bookshelf for rear then center OR 2 Towers for front and 2 dipoles for rear then center. I keep hearing dipoles good for surround but won't it affect directionality? Won't...
Was considering the VSX-D814-K/S A budget amp but his looks tempting. how much better would you say is the VSX-1014. I was going to pay around $400, is this worth the extra money?
