The number of people that watch network television today for any programming outside of football has become minimal to say the least. The viewing landscape has dramatically changed, therefore the need to show such movies is not needed any longer with so many other options to view such movies.
There are several classic Hollywood films that played on network TV back in the day. The Wizard of Oz, Ben-Hur, The Great Escape, The Bridge on the River Kwai and Elmer Gantry just to name a few of them.
State Fair is still available for purchase according to my iTunes digital library. The Sound of Music, Oklahoma and The King and I are still in my digital library but are not available for purchase. I don't have Carousel in my library, but it's still available for purchase at $14.99. South...
Frankly, I think Andrews with Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music did very well as I think those two movies are more iconic to the masses than My Fair Lady. Just my opinion.
Anything is possible. Due to this pandemic, who knows what is going to happen as these studios are bleeding money and are in need for more revenue streams.
