I was just trying to compare a year pre-pandemic to a year post-pandemic. I never bother to compare the movie titles released as my point is that less people are going to the movies today in 2022, than they did prior to 2020.
I don't think the box office receipts will meet what happened in 2019. Too many people like me just don't go to the movies like we used to. It's going to take more time and there is a chance it never fully recovers.
I don't think so as many theaters have decreased the number of showings per day. Part of the reason is the hiring crunch due to the pandemic. They simply can't hire enough people as the largest AMC movie complex nearest to me doesn't even offer weekday showings before 3:15 p.m.
I don't see myself going back to the movies for a good while. I was only comfortable seeing WSS because there were only 5 or 6 people in the entire movie theater and we were spread out in this lounge chair theater. With that said, I was still a little leery to a certain degree. I don't want...
My local theater complex that was built in 2014, closed down during the pandemic. It's going to open again later this summer, but a different movie chain is leasing the theater complex. I just tallied up the gift cards I received over the years from that previous movie chain and the grand...
I grocery shopped this morning and for the first time since the pandemic started, I was one of just a few people that wore a mask. The people who actually worked at the store weren't wearing a mask either. Not me brother, as I don't trust anybody when it comes to my personal safety and how...
After about 16 months, I watched my first movie in a movie theater and I must say I wasn't really comfortable as I was the only person wearing my mask in the theater. The theater employees were wearing masks. I'm fully vaccinated with Pfizer since April 1st, but every time I heard somebody...
Emagine Entertainment has signed a deal to re-open my former Goodrich Quality theater in July. I'm expecting they will install heated recliner chairs with reduced capacity in each theater. If the Covid numbers continue to drop here in Michigan, this might be the time I start going back...
Guys,
I've moved several posts from the "Black Widow' thread to this one because the discussion became focused on personal and public safety issues in watching movies during this pandemic rather than that movie. Let's keep the "Black Widow" thread focused on that movie itself and...
What are you talking about??? My point is that some really nice movie theater complexes are closed for good. Even though, I'm a HT enthusiast, I was going to the movies on a regular basis, but now, doesn't have a state of the art movie theater close to my residence. If I want that, I have to...
I don't know about that as the newest and best theater in my city has closed down. Perhaps, it will reopen, but the theater is less than ten years old with Atmos audio. I have no desire to watch a movie in the other theater complex in my city which was built about 40 years ago.
Man, I just found out that my local theater is now closed for good because Goodrich Quality theaters filed for bankruptcy back in February. The company found new owners, but my local theater which was built in 2014, is not among the theaters that are now part of the new company which opened...
