Yesterday, I finally got off my lazy butt and hooked up my second Oppo 203 in my Bedroom as a replacement for my Oppo 93. I reconfigure my Bedroom HT deleting a Panny BD that I had hooked up too and replaced all of my HDMI cables.
Last week, I bought that Region Free Mod Kit for my Oppo 203 and it works perfectly. I then placed my Region Free Modified Oppo 103 into my Bedroom HT and moved my Region Free Oppo 93 into my Computer Room HT.
Sam,
I think Ron imports 3-D discs too so it would make sense for him to stick with the Oppo 203 because he can simply install the $58.00 MOD kit that would make the 203 region-free. Furthermore, I think Ron is going to care about Dolby Vision as any serious HT buff should be.
I wouldn't pay that much as you can easily purchased the MOD kit linked below and install it yourself without opening up the unit. This external MOD kit works on the 103/105 and the 203 player too. Furthermore, it costs only $59.00...
While calibrating my new HT equipment I noticed a new firmware update for the 203. I'm assuming it's the Dolby Vision update, but haven't checked for confirmation.
Raul,
I have everything set to Auto and no matter which UHD disc I play I get the same settings except the frame rate. With Billy Lynn it's 59.94 while the other discs it's 23.976.
