We can only hope that is true about it being in the pipeline. It was shocking watching Lucy Gallant look so good on my OLED. My last viewing of that movie was back in the early days of streaming when Amazon had a faded SD digital in 1.33 ratio that kept on buffering throughout the entirety of...
He had his moments, but most of the time, his acting range was from 1-3 instead of 1-10.;) By the way, I love George Raft, but I call them as I see them.
George Raft wasn't a good actor, but he gave one of his best acting performances in Spawn of the North. He was more effective in his role than Robert Ryan was in basically the same role in Alaska Seas. Very strange considering Robert Ryan was an excellent actor and one of my all-time favorite...
Spawn of the North might be a minor film to Kino and perhaps Alaska Seas too. However, I think the 1938 film is a superior movie to the 1954 remake Alaska Seas.
Less than a month ago, I watched that Spawn of the North Blu-ray and saw nothing wrong with-it video presentation-wise on my 65" OLED. I specifically paid attention to any grain issues because I remembered reading your comments complaining about excessive grain. I didn't notice anything out...
Kudos to Kino for "Blood on the Sun" Blu-ray release. My thoughts on this Blu-ray:

With my large accumulation of Target Gift Cards and Red Circle savings, it’s an easy no-brainer decision for me to combine those gift cards and savings with this type of sale.
I bought a bunch of titles during this sale!
Yes, it’s derived from a new 4K scan.

I stand corrected because Kino has released some Columbia titles such as Lady from Shanghai, Human Desire, Hardcore and They Came to Cordura. However, their agreement with Columbia/Sony appears to be limited in quantity compared to Universal and Paramount.
On February 27th, Vinegar Syndrome is releasing another Paramount western on Blu-ray which is "5 Card Stud" (1968) starring Dean Martin and Robert Mitchum. I would have thought Kino would release it, but it appears that they now have some competition with Arrow and Vinegar Syndrome.
I can comment about the transfer, it's pristine and it looks like it's derived from a 4K scan. We talked about it in my thread back in March 2022. It was on sale for $4.99 in May 2022 and many of us bought it then and watched it. Below are two threads in which we discussed the HD digital...
We’re still waiting on a new Universal deal to be announced. The new Paramount deal is active. There were some deals announced involving some foreign titles.
