Quote> Steve, I would put it this way! If not the Kenwood what receiver would you buy for $300 >QUOTE That's a fairly good way to put it :D That's assuming you only had $300 to spend, anyway. What if you actually had more, but upon cursory exam the stats looked the same as the $600...

Excerpt..... "`THD' is for total harmonic distortion, and is a measure of the how much a certain device may distort a signal. These figures are usually given as percentages. It is believed that THD figures below approximately 0.1% are inaudible. However, it should be realized that distortion...

QUOTE Maybe I have been away from math too long QUOTE Yes you have ;) .01 is 1/100 of 1.0 , or in other words, just 1 Look at it this way: You have $100. $10 is 10% of that, or .10 (1/10th) $1 is 1% of that, or .01 (1/100th) $100 is 100% of that, or 1.0 (100/100th)

Hmmmm....if my math is correct, .7% THD = 70%. 1% would be equal to .01, so anything under this would be considered inaudible.

Yeah...you'd think part of the THX certification would be an acceptable amount of distortion in the surrounds, or equal amount all around for that matter. I've noticed that a lot of brands will have decent THD in the fronts with a pathetic amount in the rears. I guess this is a 'good' place to...
