I have all of the Hanna-Barbers shows I want ( I have to admit a dozen of them are on "homemade DVDs"). :angry: The four series I'd like to get (Hot Wheels, Skyhawks, Run Joe Run and Westwind) are done by other producers (I want them so much I've designated them to be "bucket list" shows). :cheers:

Are "Rights Issues" holding up a release of The Adventures of Gulliver? As popular was this show when it ran I'm surprised to see it hasn't been released.

Being the owner of the entire original series (I picked it up when Big Lots had this series, along with lots of other H/B series for three bucks a shot!). :D I'm sitting on the fence on this one. Since it says "Volume One" I presume other "volumes" are in the works. I'll keep my eyes peeled for...

I was introduced to this show when it was aired on NBC in the late 60s, problem was it ran opposite of Lassie on CBS. Fortunately It was shown once a week as a segment of The Banana Splits and I liked what I saw. Today I have all of the shows I mentioned on DVD.

This is one of the best things I like about this hobby, recreating your childhood! (as well as the childhoods of your friends and relatives) Be it your favorite Saturday morning cartoons, or your neighbors B&W shows from the 1950s, or even the Serials your parents saw at the Theater in the 1930s...

I've managed to acquire all the HB series I want. Nearly 2/5of them are via "other means" I LOATHE getting sets via this means. I don't know what's worse, using this method of getting what you want, or the studios refusing to making shows such as this one available via legitimate means.

Back in the 1960s and 70s each network would have a "Special" where they would show previews of their new Saturday Morning Cartoons (and some live-action shows in the 1970s. With the demise on Saturday Morning children's shows it's almost 45 years since anyone has had a "preview" special. :(

Movies that HAVE been released include: The Man Called Flintstone Hey There! It's Yogi Bear! Charlotte's Web (The 2006 Remake SMOKES this!) The Jetsons (1993) The Jetsons meet The Flintstones I have copies of each :biggrin:

What's keeping some of the other HB shows from being released? I'm specifically talking about the following: The Adventures of Gulliver The New Adventures of Huck Finn These Are The Days Devlin Not to mention a boatload of others.

The Fantastic 4 also had an episode (The Way It All Began) where Ben Grimm (The Thing) and Mr. Fantastic recall their days in WW II.

Me too. I wonder why The Adventures of Gulliver and The New Adventures of Huck Finn haven't made it to DVD. :huh: Both were wildly popular in syndication. I never saw the latter until it was syndicated ( It aired opposite Lassie). Both shows were bundled with the syndication of The Banana...

I feel sorry for today's kids, IMO most kids shows "Jumped the Shark" after the "EI" format was passed into law in the late 1990s. :( On the other hand I have given vintage DVDs of Hannah-Barbara and Filmation Cartoons as Birthday and Christmas to some of my friend's kids and they lapped them...

I second you on The Fantastic Four! I bought the whole nine yards of The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family a couple of years ago when Ross and Beales had them for around for around $6.00 a season after the Holiday Season ended. I'll have to look further into them to see if the Cartoons are...
