UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ -The Godfather(s) 50th Anniversary Restoration -- in 4k UHD

I fall somewhere in the middle. If I watch a new BD and/or 4K UHD transfer and enjoy both the film and the transfer, then later read about all the things wrong with it, it makes me feel a bit guilty for enjoying it so much.

Just finished watching the new 4K UHD Godfather Part III. I won't say which version I watched, they all have their pluses and minuses, and we already have enough controversy here. But now that I've seen them all, I have pretty much decided which one is going to be my go-to version from now on. I...

I'm completely in favor of having a reissue of the 2007 restoration on 4K UHD BD. I'm sure that that would keep both camps happy. However, I am pleased with what has been done to "update" the 2007 restoration to satisfy the tastes of a 2022 audience. Especially considering that it has the seal...

Had a Godfather marathon these last few days. Finished Part II early this morning. The new 4K transfers have knocked my socks off! Can't speak for anyone else, but I found them to be extremely watchable. Yes, the "Filmed Yesterday" look took a bit of getting used to, but the super sharp and...

Saw the film when it first came out. It's always been that way. If you don't speak Italian, there's always this: https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/movie-tv/ever-wondered-what-sollozo-and-michael-say-in-italian/47859821/

I know how you feel Ron. I don't claim to have the same trained eye as RAH, but I noticed the difference between the 2008 BD, and this latest incarnation immediately. To my eyes, the image looks as though it was filmed with one of today's 4K digital rigs. And some scenes even have sort of a...

I watched the first film tonight using my Panasonic 820 feeding a LG C9 65" OLED so I could check out the Dolby Vision (which projectors don't have). Very impressed with the sharpness and clarity. I could actually make out the "HOLLYWOODLAND" sign in the scene where Tom arrives in CA. Didn't...

And drop on the floor! If you bought the Boxed Set..... Make sure to open the book on a flat surface. I didn't and 2 of the discs fell out! Fortunately on my carpet, so no damages. Henceforth, they will all find new homes in individual cases.

Very happy to report that If you are one of the fans that stay in your seat watching the credits and enjoying the sumptuous musical score all the way to the very end, you'll be happy to learn that the missing (since the 2008 BD) 10 second music chord at the very end of The Godfather Part II has...
