I wasn't expecting much in the way of picture quality from a 30 year old laserdisc source. How in the world were they able to improve the quality to such a degree? Looks like 720p!

Happy to report that when setting the HDMI audio output on my player to LPCM (or AUTO), and when I MANUALLY select Dolby Pro Logic Surround my Onkyo or Yamaha receiver, the DTS Master 2.0 does indeed decode Dolby Pro Logic Surround.

BTW, I always use the "direct" setting on the Onkyo receiver. But it does have all kinds of other options for different audio settings such as Dolby Pro logic, Etc. don't know if that forces a simulated surround effect, but I'll experiment and see.
Mine is the second version released with the discrete AC3 5.1 surround track which requires an outboard decoder or a Pioneer receiver with the decoder built in. I have both. :)
Yes. The player is set to output HDMI RAW. And my Onkyo receiver says It's "DTS-HD Master 2.0". I'll tinker with it some more and see if anything changes.
The 2.0 "surround" when output direct to my receiver, reports it not as Dolby ProLogic, but simply a left and right audio signal. Doesn't even sound like stereo.
