The framing on the blu ray is great. You can see the extra intended information on the sides like Mr. Rangers hand. The blu ray isn't cropped its correctly framed. The boomerang version is zoomed in and cropped on the sides. The information on the bottom is unimportant and was not intended to be...
Thats good news at least we are still getting something Saturday morning. They released a remastered in HD Aquaman 1967 by Filmation a year and a half ago on HBOmax. I thought they would have released that by now on Blu Ray.
Fans have been asking for FF since before the last FF movie came out so I don't hold much hope for it now that discs sales aren't what they used to be and they haven't released an unreleased HB series on DVD since 2019. Its been all reissues on blu ray the past couple years.
CBS hasn't shown much interest in releasing Saturday morning cartoons is why no Globetrotters.
Fantastic 4 can't be released because of legal issues. Rights dispute.
Also add:
Adventures of Gulliver 1968
The Banana Splits Hour
Ruff and Reddy
Quick Draw McGraw
The rest of Huckleberry Hound
Touche Turtle
Catanooga Cats
And these HB not owned by Warner:
Jeannie (Sony)
Partridge Family 2200 AD (Sony)
The Harlem Globetrotters (CBS/Paramount)
Fantastic Four 1967...
As Mark pointed out Jeannie is owned by Sony and not Warner so thats a sure sign this is a bootleg using the same prints on crackle and youtube. I see fan made covers for lots of unreleased HB titles that just use the same WAC design which is what it looks like happened here.
Personally for me if they do Yogi's Space Race I think the best way is to keep the same format for all 13 episodes. Thats how all the episodes were intended to be shown until the station decided to break the show up after 8 episodes.
Chattanooga Cats and most of the other 60-90 minute shows: Tom and Jerry/Grape Ape, Skatebirds and Yogi's Space Race would just need to be restored and search for connecting parts so they do not have anywhere near as big of issues.
Many of us would love this. Unfortunately the film elements are in bad shape. Another big problem is it was a hour show. It was rerun that way throughout the 70's and early 80's but then edited down to a 30 minute show in the late 80's. So for Warner Archive to release this show they not only...
Welcome back. No recent announcements from WAC so far this year. For the past 2 years its been upgrades on Blu Ray only. While there is no confirmation from them it appears they have moved away from DVD's So if that is the case hopefully we get some new titles on blu ray as well as the...
They have been releasing a steady stream of blu ray upgrades for cartoons so they are obviously selling since they are still releasing them and hopefully continue too.
I was actually referring to the HB cartoons but Looney toons have better colors too much richer. The DVD's on these older...
Yes it is frustrating that the Blu Rays which have all been excellent quality have only been released for major characters and shows previously released on DVD.
I agree that they should support minor shows on DVD and that is what they always did. I am just pointing out that they appear to be...
That was what they were using the DVD line for. But WAC has been all Blu Ray for at least a year now. They haven't been releasing any old Movies , classic TV shows or animated series on DVD anymore so the DVD line appears to be dead. I agree lesser unreleased titles appear unlikely on blu ray at...
They mentioned it was being worked on along time ago on Facebook as well as the complete 90 minute Yogi's Space Race but both needed a lot of work and apparently were not completed.
They already released 1 complete episode of The Tom and Jerry/Grape Ape show on one of the Saturday Morning 70's collections so those episodes are complete and ready to go they just need a remastering. They also aired in syndicated reruns this way from the late 70's through the mid 80's. It was...
That plus I think most of the reports of bad Warner disc were discs from 1997-2000. I have checked some of mine from that period and have not come across any failures yet. But all the HB releases were after that starting in 2003 I believe.
Boomerang streaming is not HD. I just checked and they still only have the 15 New Scooby movies from the best of DVD. HBOMax has HB cartoons in HD and they have alot of Scooby Doo but not the New Scooby movies.
Unfortunately right now WAC only seems to be interested in releasing shows on Blu Ray that were previously released on DVD instead of finishing all the unreleased HB titles. With the music rights issues on these two titles it makes them even more unlikely.
All 3 of those were remastered in HD for those releases so the picture quality is greatly improved. Better sharpness, Detail and Color. But there is nothing new added to the shows and no new extras.
Yes Sony has always owned Jeannie and Partridge Family 2200 AD and don't seem to have any interest in release them. I know a couple Partridge family episodes were included as bonus on the DVD's of the TV show.
My understanding is Young Samson episodes are only cut by a minute but the Space Kidettes which run about 10 minutes on the DVD are cut by 4 to 4 & 1/2 minutes. I would really like to see a release of the full length Space Cadet episodes but they may no longer exist. Including commercials Space...
Yes nearly all of the HB prime time shows were rerun on Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons. I only remember the original Jetsons playing on Saturday morning around 79-81. They were shown on Weekday afternoons from mid 70's to around 82 in the southern California market.
