In this specific case, The Two Mrs. Carroll, so far, has only been available for streamijg in SD. So, as HBO Max only streams HD versions of films, it’s probably a new transfer.
In the latest Dvd Classics Corner podcast, George Feltenstein told Dick Dinman that the the technicolor negatives for Three Little Words are in the house, but they haven't started working on them yet. He also mentioned that it will possible have a late 2022 release.
By the way, anyone knows if...

All 6 pre 1960 titles for me! I am a fan of all of them!
So Fury might be that extra Tracy title Mr. Feltenstein teased about early this year (as San Francisco is not exactly a Tracy movie).
2 more 3 strip technicolor for my collection! They both should look stunning as any other Technicolor...
All these titles (and many more WB Classics) have been listed on phantom pages on Amazon for years. They certainly are not slated for August, with the exception of Shadow of the Thin Man, that has a street date.
I will have to disagree on that one ( And I may be wrong).

It’s under the remastered banner on HBO Max, as has only been the titles latter released on Bluray. And I thought the image beautiful and totally cleaned up. No dirty spots or scratches in this one.
Good news! Mister Roberts just landed on HBO Max and it has a restored transfer. Beautiful!

According to the Information contained in the menu on my HBO Max, these are the new entries indicated as “Remastered Classics”:
- Libeled Lady
- the Curse of Frankestein
- Marie a true story.
There are also Ball of Fire (1941) and The Wings of Eagle (1957).
Regarding the two rematered titles (Life with Father and Tennessee Johnson) that were not announced for a BD release next month, I am still hopeful they will be released in November.
Great news for those who love MGM musicals.
In their latest podcast, the great folks from WAC answering my question, informed that they are currently working on musicals starring Eleanor Powell, Fred Astaire and Judy Garland for release on Bluray.
And answering another person, they specifically...
Wow! I did not see this one coming! Sorry for the error! And thank you for letting me know about this release.
Well, my previous info, then, applies to High Society and The Opposite Sex.
Among the films included in the next TCM Film Festival there are a lot of WB owned titles, most of them presented in film.
But there are three exceptions (among never released on BD) to be presented in DCP: The Bad Seed, High Society and The Opposite Sex. I wonder if this means...
