I got Mofi's Cahoots by The Band. I hope that all the stuff they claim is coming out today, 2 July, actually does.....If so, I'll be ordering some more.
I listened to my two, new Doors SA-CD's last evening. They didn't impress me as much as my vintage vinyl of L.A. Woman and The Doors did. I still have my L.A. Woman vinyl filet. I was more impressed with The Allman's S/T. Of course, it was not the original master. I didn't really expect that it...
I got my two favourite Door's albums on Analogue Productions' SA-CD, S/T and L.A. Woman. I also got Mofi's Allman Brothers' S/T. I might pick up a few more Doors and I'm definitely interested in Mofi's Eat A Peach when it debuts.
I do have the Sony 52nd Street which I have not listened for many years. I listened to 52nd Street this afternoon, the Mofi. I was gonna listen to all 3 newbies but the phone kept ringing and the dog wanted to pee and I didn't get on to the other two. I just don't recall much about the old Sony...
I wore out a Panasonic 30 and 35. The Blu laser in the 35 failed after about 18 months. It played DVD's fine when I put it to sleep. The 30 still works but had issues with some BD's all along, firmware upgrade after firmware upgrade. It's parked.
The BD10 is much better made. It surely has...
I compared the Pet Sounds, DVD-A to the SA-CD and I think maybe the DVD sounds a little better. I'm using one of my first BD players, Panasonic BD10, as my BD player for my stereo. It sure plays the Beach Boys well. I'm gonna fire up the BD10 again soon for the B-52's Live BD that I recently...
I was gonna listen to Pet Sounds this evening but the power went on and off so many times due to storms I gave up for tonight. I think that the power is back to stay but I'm tired now. I think I have a copy of the DVD-A, myself. It's been on the shelf a long time.
The Cat Stevens SA-CD is a revelation compared to the paltry CD's I've heard. I made cassettes of Cat Stevens back in the 70's that sounded better than the miserable CD I own but could hardly bear to listen to. The Cat is back for me.
I have several mo' Mofi's a'comin' soon. Today I got Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble's Soul To Soul. I have two more Foreigner SA-CD's in route.
I listened to Keb' Mo' several times before I put it away.
This week I got Mofi's SA-CD of Keb' Mo' S/T. It's playin' real nice on my Oppo 83 at the moment. If it sounds richer on my XA777ES, then this is one fine disc....and I bet it will. I wish Mofi would quit movin' like molasses on gettin' out the Stevie Ray titles I need to rock my house!
I think it attempts to be more pop rock than my other albums by her. It has no covers. She wrote or co-wrote all the tunes. I've only listened to it twice as of yet. The SQ seems excellent.
I first listened to the Doobies on my upstairs system one day last week and thought it sounded a bit off for Mofi. I put it on my best system last night and changed my mind. After last night's listen I decided that several cuts were not just not all that well recorded or the tapes were beat up...
Mike, is that the French one? I have all 6 of that series, I got mine from Amazon France, oh, early in this decade. Have a buddy with another player? It sounds like the player has a grudge here... /img/vbsmilies/htf/laugh.gif The whole series is good. I like the minimalist recording style....
I got a Pro-ject RM-6 table some years back. I buy used vinyl about once a month. I watch what Mofi and Acoustic Sounds put out in the way of Sack-Dee's. I doubt I'll ever hit 700. I'm just down to a trickle....
