International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

And such a fine quote it is too that I had to find its source: https://martinteller.wordpress.com/2012/02/19/the-burglar-rewatch/ Not seen this film before, but Dan Duryea is always mesmerising, and with your glowing recommendation, I’ll be sure to buy it.

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Per @RobertMG in post 810 above, Via Vision confirmed their original spec was in error and have corrected it to 1.85:1 https://viavision.com.au/shop/tales-of-adventure-collection-1-imprint-collection-214-217/

That’s so strange. You’ve received these already in the US, while some of our biggest retailers in Australia, home to Imprint, still only have these showing as pre-orders pending release later this month. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for you and I can wait for mine. It just doesn’t make much...

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

This might only interest those outside the US. Imprint replied to an enquiry about the master being used for The Strange Love of Martha Ivers in their upcoming Noir 3 volume, and whether it is the same 4K restoration announced by Kino.

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

I agree with all points in your post, except for ‘their level of restoration work’. Imprint distributes the masters they are given by the studio. They won’t be in a position to restore anything, so that much is not down to them. Perhaps digital cleanup at most, but I’ve not seen any evidence...

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

I was unaware. Would you please cite some titles where that’s been the case? Not disputing your statement. Just would like to know. Thanks. Edit: Don’t go to any trouble, Dawn. I just checked Imprint’s own site rather than JB HiFi, and I saw a few titles that are sold out as limited editions...

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

I don’t pre-order any Imprint titles. In my view, there’s no real incentive in doing so, whether living in Australia or abroad. The limited editions have nicer packaging, but once those sellout, a standard edition at a lower cost has always followed, so there’s no danger of missing out on a...

International Via Vision Entertainment announces new premium Blu-ray label IMPRINT

Not sure about their international shipping costs, but jbhifi.com.au currently has a buy one get one free blu-ray and 4K offer, ending May 25. Together with favourable exchange rates, it might be a good time to catch up on Oz releases, including Imprint.

I see you’d already covered this David. I created a new thread just now, which the invisible powers above just merged into this thread. Moderators: please feel welcome to delete that merged post as it’s completely covered by David’s earlier post.

Not trying to drum up business for Via Vision, but just so members make an informed choice about any purchase from Down Under, please take the exchange rate into consideration. Right now, AUD$35 equals US$23.02, and shipping charges of AUD$20 equal US$13.15 (calculations at xe.com).
