Before I knew what this effect was I was confused, thinking I had somehow misremembered episodes from the video season as filmed episodes. I hate the effect.

I don’t understand their rationale in running episodes out of order. MASH jumped from season 3 to season 1 (and not even the beginning of season 1), Andy Griffith seems to always be a very limited rotation of select black and white episodes, etc.

Good thread. I notice it most on MASH, but the strange thing is it doesn’t seem to be consistent. In their 1 hour block, sometimes 1 episode is fairly watchable and the other distractingly sped up.
