Stopped in a library book sale this week and saw a woman grab Rawhide season 1 and a 1950's Dragnet box. They do exist!

I watched that episode of The Fugitive a few years ago, I'm surprised you didn't post any screencaps of Roy Thinnes in his vivid bandana print shirt for the immense female readership of this thread. Sometimes it does feel like we guys are getting drowned out here though, why only yesterday I...

Jeff, somehow I managed to watch both Valley of the Dinosaurs and Land of the Lost, with Korg 70,000 B.C. thrown in for good measure. Different schedules maybe, or one first run and one in reruns? Looking forward to your upcoming series of luscious screencaps of a female Sleestak. ;)

Run For Your Life - S2E5 "The Dark Beyond The Door". Paul helps his friend's wife (Delphi Lawrence) by looking into who her husband(Peter Graves) is sending a mysterious payment of $1000 a month to. With a few unforeseen developments, a sensitive performance by Michael Dunn, and Kent McCord...

Courtesy of YT, watching episodes of J.J. Starbuck - Dale Robertson series from the mid-1980’s, the first few episodes have kind of a Columbo format and then the feel begins to vary, one is a little A-Team, another a bit Highway to Heaven. So far I’m not sure I’d call it a great show but it is...

I'm not entirely sure I agree with this assessment Jeff. I can't help but imagine a world in which we got a Richard Boone Show style scenario with each week showcasing a TV remake of a different Cary Grant film with Astin in the Grant part. Episode 1: North By Northwest, with John Astin, Jamie...

Strike Force - “The John Killer”. This 1981 Robert Stack series is like Most Wanted with a lot more violence and a bit more of a claustrophic feel. Prisoner/Avengers/Man In A Suitcase veteran Don Chaffey directs this episode with a genuinely unsettling Ann Turkel as a Norman Bates on overdrive...

Most Wanted S1E21 "The Dutchman". Rip Torn is great as the recently released from prison criminal mastermind. Even within the limited confines of the script, it's apparent that he has established complex emotional relationships with a number of characters in the story, and would have been a...

Another great post Jeff and your description of the vehicles "gleefully soaring through the air" gave me a great early morning laugh. Recently came across this interview with Albert Salmi. It's labeled as being Kung Fu related but it actually seems to date from the Petrocelli era.

Quinn Martin's Tales of the Unexpected - No Way Out. Bill Bixby as a Navy Man caught up in a storm at sea who wakes up in a hospital 25 years later. Enjoyable episode with a nice support turn by Robert Hogan, had a certain creepy undercurrent that made it play like an extended, slightly higher...

The Interns - The Casualty. Depressing episode directed by Richard Donner, drenched in early 70's pathos relevance. John Davidson checks in for what he thinks is a minor ailment. His sister Diana Hyland is an award winning journalist doing a feature on the hospital, and appears to be insane...

Great reviews and screencaps as always Jeff! I had a few episodes of Coronado 9 on a dvd-r 15-20 years ago and was glad to see the release of that series and State Trooper. Cameron's presence makes them eminently watchable. Always enjoyed Peter Haskell's guest shots back then, and watched a...

Now playing. Budget label Hawaii Five-0 cash in. Good version of the theme, has a driving immediacy, with a cheap electronic organ that sounds like something Sun Ra might have used, cool late 60’s guitar effects. 3 songs are in that vein (including a cover of Booker T & the MG’s “Time Is...

I liked the Planet of the Apes series well enough when it was on but the animated version seemed to have more exciting stories. Haven’t seen it since then. Semi-related: Roddy McDowall’s home movies from the 60’s are on youtube and well worth watching, a lot of familiar faces in a casual setting.

Tonight’s listen. This budget label version of the Mission Impossible soundtrack is an enjoyable album, the title track is played at a more frantic tempo than Schafrin’s arrangement, opening up with some hammering piano chords bringing to mind a hopped up on amphetamines take on the Barnaby...
