At the top of the Sale Info it says "Up to 3". So I entered 3 and the code and it was accepted. But then no matter how many times I checked to make sure I had everything filled in it wouldn't accept the order. I guess they're still working out the bugs, so with any luck maybe tomorrow ...
Same problem. I tried all possible variations on Newsletter. Guess I'll wait for them to contact me. I did take down all 14 I'd listed to order, just to be safe!
The 1984 production with Jason Robards as Grandpa and Colleen Dewhurst as the Grand Duchess was also filmed and aired on Great Performances. I saw it on Broadway the night Colleen made an entrance a couple scenes too soon. That didn't bother Robards. He just smiled and went on with his speech.
A few more good savings on Amazon for recent Warner Archive Blu Rays:
HELEN OF TROY 14.40
KING SOLOMON'S MINES 13.99
CHRISTOPHER STRONG 14.99 PLUS a 20% off Coupon which brings it down to 11.99!
Wow! What a great line-up. And it would appear that this leaves AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS as the only Best Picture Oscar winner not to have a Blu Ray release, yes? (There's an Australian Blu Ray of CODA.)
Just a little Heads Up. The WBAC Blu Ray of HEY THERE! IT'S YOGI BEAR! is currently available on Amazon for $12.99. Low prices like these often disappear quite quickly, so best to grab a copy now if you're interested.
I'm sure this has been covered before, but I'd appreciate it if someone could explain again just what happened to the old WBAC DVD-MOD line. Like some of the other folk who've posted above, I was buying them up by the carload. It's such a pleasure having all the little known 30s and 40s films I...
I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion. I have a Original Cast CD collection of well over 1500 titles, and the only way to house it is to use the binders. They have a space for each disc AND the booklet that comes with it. The back inserts I pull and have alphabetized in a small box. The...
I just took down my old Mickey Rooney / Judy Garland DVD Set to check it out. And yes, as was posted earlier, all four discs are unplayable. Good thing I bought the new Blu Ray editions of GIRL CRAZY and STRIKE UP THE BAND. Now I'll just keep my fingers crossed for Blu Rays of BABES IN ARMS and...
Absolutely. I also keep checking eBay and was able to buy that baby for much less than the Amazon price, but it's taken quite a while. Another title I hope Amazon will rethink!
Grabbed up FOR ME AND MY GAL, and now only have four left on my Warner Archive Wish List. For some reason Amazon doesn't seem to have any interest in dropping the price on MR. BLANDINGS. Are you listening, Amazon? Please?
Just a little Heads Up for those interested in acquiring some of the many lesser known films released by
Warner Archive in its early years. Try going to Deep Discount, clicking on Studios, then Warner Archive, and
then Price: Low to High. There are quite literally hundred of titles listed at $11...
A little side note: If you go on Amazon and read the comments, 6% give it only One Star. The reason?
"This is horrific! I didn't pay for stills. This is not a movie, it's part movie, part photo montage" etc. etc.
One has to wonder in what world these reviewers live.
I continue to find it worthwhile to check the Amazon list of NEW RELEASES every day. Recently, I've
been able to purchase ATHENA, DINNER AT EIGHT, IN THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME and ELIZABETH
AND ESSEX for $13 and change. However, those low prices are sometimes only available for one day.
Just as well. I still have quite a few new releases on my To Buy List. Fortunately, Amazon keeps coming up with new Deals that drop the price WAY down, so I've been able to pick up several during the holidays. And the quality of all of them has been astounding!
Am I correct in remembering that a number of Silent Movie Classics have had brand new soundtracks
attached, and are still waiting for release? Oh, how I wish Warner Archive would go back that far again,
and put them out on Blu Ray.
In the meantime, I'll continue to cherish all the Silent Movie...
Amazon currently has the Warner Archive Blu Ray of THE WINDOW listed for $12.30. It's a Limited Time
Deal, so if you're interested best grab it up now!
