Next to film restoration, itself, the commentary track remains the greatest gift to cinephiles and the home theater experience that ever came down the pike. Treasures upon treasures; all tucked away within a tiny little disc. To my mind, this still remains remarkable.
My thanks to Kino Lorber...
Congratulations to Kino Lorber. Their ceaselessly amazing output makes it hard to imagine that anyone there has known of sleep nor rest in years. Well done.
Captures and offerings such as this film are a hallmark of what Kino Lorber does best. Excellent news and highly deserving of being seen. Riveting and visceral, to say the very least.

Please delete this post if my question is placed upon the wrong thread.
Note to KL: Is Paint Your Wagon still being released as previously announced on this thread? If so, is an official street date available?
Finally, we now have our “Flower Drum Song”.:)
BTW, a thank you to KL for including and recognizing the importance of the archived commentary track by Nancy Kwan and Nick Redman. A true treasure, in and of itself.:thumbs-up-smiley:
Thank you Ed. Pretty inspiring shares.
I, myself, shall be sending me a BD copy of Kino’s upcoming Murder at the Vanities along with the biography of Mitchell Leisen: Hollywood Director authored by Dave Chierichetti.
I know that this thread does not allow for BD requests, but I think it’s...
If you think for an ever bleeding second that I’m gonna start sharing with the entire World Wide Web my personal preferences towards the films of Ridley Scott, Henry Hathaway, George Cukor and William Friedkin; or even, for that matter, such films that stars the likes of Jimmy Stewart, Gina...
Kino Lorber and their While Supplies Last Sale is hereby now on notice. There are 12 BD units to which your inventories are now further depleted, due entirely to my fondness of your product and to my weaknesses for a great deal. Order in and one more satisfied customer.:thumbs-up-smiley:
As for...
If that’s the case, then the joke is on them. “Third party labels” or whatever, Kino Lorber is ever so much at the top of their game.
P.S. Looking forward to the new transfer of “Marty”. That’s a Day One, right there.:thumbs-up-smiley:
Whenever there's that rare disappointment over the absence of one singular title, I have learned of the beneficial trade-offs; to which a dozen other alternate titles of equal merits are brought to the fore. No doubts here, Kino Lorber knows how to crank 'em out and always gives us...
I, myself, dare not make any inquiries. I take the natural evolution of Kino's releases exactly as they are announced, I enjoy the surprises, and I always find plenty that I look forward to purchasing. Now, with that said, SKIPPY has long been on my watch list of coveted titles, as well.
The Kino catalogue has so vastly grown that soon there will nothing left, but for the exception of an inherited 8mm b/w 50 ft. reel of Kodak Safety Film and my great-great-grandparents family picnic.:thumbs-up-smiley:
Looking forward.:)
Also, thank you for the exciting and upcoming releases of “GBU” and “Touch of Evil” in 4K/UHD.:thumbs-up-smiley:
Big stuff is ahead.
Has anything yet been confirmed on the inclusion of the Overture, Entr’acte and Exit Music of Thoroughly Modern Millie?
No worries if the news proves itself to be disappointing, Mr. Insider, as I will still make purchase; but if we are to go without, could you share with us an insight or two as...
In regards to the Kino announcements; I’m good with all of the titles that they choose to make available on BD. There’s something for everybody; and much of which, that otherwise, would never have been found elsewhere.:thumbs-up-smiley:
