Almost after I posted it the forecast was updated. I read the gusts would only be up to 20 mph as well. I’m about 45 minutes north east of Atlanta and the winds are only 5 mph currently.
Update- my wife also noted the forecasts here in Georgia seem to be changing constantly.
I don’t have a...
Got it.
I agree with other comments on the quicker pacing of minor league games. They move very quickly.
I wonder if increased offense in mlb is another factor.
I’ve often wondered if baseball games have gotten longer due to the length of tv ads.
For tonight’s Mets / Braves game in Atlanta they are forecasting wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
Also Francisco Alvarez is being called up by the Mets. He will DH only when he plays...
I attended a AAA minor league game a few weeks ago. The pacing was good and I noticed a lot more stolen bases. I know larger bases are being used in the minors this year and majors next year.
Mets play 2 today in Chicago.
Atlanta is enjoying playing the Nationals 7 times over these past 2 weeks.
Washington seems like a team that doesn’t have any direction aside from losing. I’m sure Bell and Soto will be moved at the deadline. Soto turned down a huge extension from the Nats...
Glad the Mets won on Friday. The Braves are red hot! Hopefully the Mets can win the last game against the Rangers today and then play the Reds well.
Atlanta has one more with the Reds and then the play 4 with the cardinals!
Very similar! For the NBA I became a Suns fan. My mom did live in Tucson for a number of years though.
So I did have a bit of connection to Arizona pro and college teams too.
These days I really just enjoy the Mets and baseball overall. The NFL and NBA I don’t really watch anymore. Same with...
I saw that Cone is doing some ESPN games too. I don’t currently have ESPN so I’ll have to try and catch him on a Yankees broadcast.
One broadcaster I don’t care for is John Smoktz. He always sounds bored at the game. He does have good insight at times though.
Al Leiter is another commentator...
Missed your question. Sorry!
My dad didn’t follow sports and I grew up in the 1980s when the Mets had a lot of stars.
I saw the Mets play a doubleheader live in 1987 in Atlanta too. I’ve just stuck with them all of these years.
I’m originally from Iowa (I don’t work in outer space) and it’s crazy that all of the Midwest teams claim Iowa as a home market. Mlb tv blacks out all of the Midwest games for those subscribers. Insane.
Agreed. My oldest is a Braves fan and it’s the only way we are able to watch them
Play. Aside from going or Fox televised games.
We did attend a Braves game in May too.
