I’ve not posted here recently and Mark’s post reminded me to.
in the past few weeks there has been an big change at where I work. There are some very hot and urgent projects going on and a sudden change in management in my group. My company has a policy to allow us to work from home and trusts...
Hey Mark, I really hope you did not contract Covid. And I hope you continue to test negative. Perhaps your wacky sinus feeling is just due to the change in climate from Vegas to your home and it’s simply your body reacting to it. Or it’s an allergy.
Sorry to hear you got Covid Carlo. I hope you recover fully and quickly.
Your experience reinforces my insanity. I still don’t take chances and when I do, it’s calculated. Fingers crossed, I’ve still avoided it.
Hi guys, thought I’d make a quick off the cuff post.
As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been slowly emerging from my self imposed cocoon and explored outside more. So far, I went to the dentist a couple of times the last month for an examine and cleaning.
I did go on the Modern Home Tour in Silicon...
I made another change in my routine, I’ve finally gone to the dentist. I went a month ago and again last week for an exam and cleaning. I was very much concerned about being in that environment with my mask off. But it turned out ok, the dentist and assistants all were covered up with masks and...
My iPhone has a notification saying that the Exposure Notifications off and will no longer log near by devices and I won’t be notified of possible exposures. Of course Covid is still out there and I’ll still be taking care to avoid exposure.
Thanks Dave, Josh- you’ve got a good point. My coworker wasn’t even aware of this feature in her iPhone! It was probably never enabled.
Such good intentions for a positive use of a tool so many people are using that wasn’t fully utilized.
By the way, Josh, you mentioned in your post above that you got alerts on your iPhone of exposures. I’ve not gotten that on my iPhone either. Maybe my settings are different? I checked, Exposure Check status shows no exposure and Exposure Logging Status shows active. The other option...
Hey guys, just thought I’d post that after three years, I finally went to the dentist two weeks ago for the first time and went to a follow-up on last Thursday. It wasn’t as scary as I thought, it was unnerving to remove my mask. But the doctor and assistants were all masked.
I’m certainly in...
Clinton, glad your fever is down. I hope the hotel is a nice one with good cable and food service. I was on a business trip to Asia a few years ago and I couldn’t sleep and watched movies almost all night once. Have a good stay and I hope you recover soon.
Hi Jake, thanks for your thoughtful post. I wanted to clarify my comment about making mistakes as I wasn’t implying what anyone else is doing as mistakes.
I’ve been having a recurring dream since Covid, that is of going out in public and forgetting to wear my mask. Once I come into close...
Jake-
Thanks for the thoughts in response to my post expressing frustration at being potentially exposed to Covid. I hear you, no matter how hard we try to prevent it, it can eventually get you. One little mistake could get you. But I'll keep trying to avoid it. Good luck to us all.
Hi guys, sorry if my post had caused some undesirable replies. It was not my intent. I was expressing some frustration to be potentially exposed to Covid. I’m still fighting to avoid it at nearly all costs. So I guess you can say I’m not dealing with Covid well after all this time. But I’m still...
Hi Carlo- thanks for the reply. I appreciate your comments.
I am glad that for the most part, it’s OK to be wearing a mask. And I have not encountered any disdain.
Unfortunately, as you said, it seems not everyone is convinced about vaccines. I remember one Los Angleles based YouTuber at the...
Hi Guys,
It’s been just about three years now since I started this thread, March 21, 2020. I started this thread at the onset of the pandemic as we were all on lock down and I wanted to talk about how we are dealing with the situation, which is quite unprecedented. I think the majority of the...
You can never be too cautious. :).
I ordered the free in home rapid covid tests too from the Government and I got my two tests this past week. I can also get them at work.
Hey guys, excuse my recent focus on mask Info. Thanks to Dave and Josh again for the info for the places to buy and the types of masks out there.
As I learn more about the other masks out there, I was noticing what high profile people are wearing when they are photographed in public doing their...
Hey Josh, thanks for the post. I wasn’t keeping up with the availability of masks. So I didn’t know the medical grade masks are out there. it wasn’t until I saw the ones being given out at work that I even thought about trying to seek them out.
And thanks for encouraging to look at other brands...
Yeah, I was experimenting with the N95 mask with a cloth mask. For the most part, I use the Outdoor Research cloth mask and the included filters in the mask that’s designed for it. That is comfortable and I feel protected. The N95 with the head straps I wear when I’ve done home repair projects...
About eating out in a restaurant. I’m not doing it! Unfortunately, I just don’t feel comfortable still. And I have followed the science that the virus is transmitted by exhaled droplets that fall to the ground within 6 feet. But I long still suspected there are smaller particles that stay...
Dave, thanks a lot for the links to the articles. Lots of good reading. 😀
Good to see that in one article, the masks from Outdoor Research is well regarded, which is the mask I had been using the most when I ventured out of the house.
I guess my thinking was to be sure the mask is not a...
Hey guys, thought I’d make a post about masks.
I recently went into the office for a few hours to take care of some tasks there and the front desk receptionist had N95 masks available for us to use. The company started to supply them because there’s been a rise of infections recently. they...
