Good luck Josh. No sense in forcing the issue, I agree. Reminds me of Cliff Robertson’s portrayal of JFK. When Robert Culp question’s JFK’s sanity for trying so hard to save the crew of the PT-109, he said it was a flaw in his character.
Regarding Trials and Tribble-ations, that was such a well done episode! I always enjoy it. Great look back at TOS and a well job knitting the story into TOS. It’s interesting that Charlie Brill was able to reprise the role of Arne Darvin. And he used very similar mannerisms after all those years...
Josh, did you try jumping to the season 2 ended, The Jem Hadar? That was a good intro to the Jem Hadar threat and then start season 3 with the The Search with their new ship, the Defiant.
Or perhaps jump ahead to when Sisko has the goatee or straight to The Way of the Warrior since your wife...
Hey Sam, thanks. I don’t always go to the trekcore site for news. They’ve really been doing a lot of great work of late! I looked at the Picard article. I caught most of the things they pointed out in the teaser, but there were a few items I missed. I did wonder if the Enterprise D painting on...
Sam, that’s really interesting that you caught that shot of the stone tablet. Nice catch!
I didn’t see that, but I only watched the teaser once. I don’t think I would have caught that anyway. I did recently see that DS9 episode, but the tablet wasn’t burned in my brain.
Last night, I watched the finale What You Leave Behind. And so I’ve completed another journey through the world of DS9 and the rich world that Ira Behr created. I get a better understanding of this world with each viewing.
Spoilers below for those who’ve not seen the series yet:
Watching it...
I watched The Dogs of War last night. So tonight will be the finale, What You Leave Behind. I’m eager to see it, yet will be sad to know it will be over. Of course it’s not the first time, but once of many times. Still it was a fun journey to go through again. And in the episode Extreme...
Spoilers below for the new comers—-
I’m flying through the 7th season. I just watched Chimera. There was a scene where Odo mentions the disease that’s affecting the Founders. Since I’ve not seen DS9 as often as the other series, I don’t know each episode as well as TOS. I know Damar notices the...
I’m sad to say I watched Tears of the Prophets last night completing the sixth season. It’s unfortunate to see the end of you know who, not saying in case someone hasn’t seen it yet.
One more season to go.
I’m well into the sixth season of DS9 of my revisit to the series. The season had a great start with the resolution of the mines which I won’t get into in Sacrafice of Angels. Then the Worf and Dax episode.
There is a six episode group I just finished that are all winners, Far Beyond the Stars...
I posted this in the general Star Trek thread, but it should be of interest for the DS9 fans so I’ll repost it here:
Thought I’d do a post about an interesting podcast I’m listening to. It’s the Trekmovie podcast and this one is about the documentary film makers who made the series of...
I agree about the titles Josh cited.
On my current re-viewing, I found rewatching the entire first and second season very helpful to remind me of the political and religious on-goings. The episode with Kai Opaka was a really good one. I recalled I didn’t care for it as much when it first aired...
I’ve moved onto the forrh episode of the 6th season, Behind the Lines. Good stuff. I was thinking it was sort of like By Any Other Name from TOS.
It has one of my favorite
I’m one episode away from finishing the 5th season. I won’t go over each episode as Adam is doing a great job at it. :).
There has been several really good ones this season, the whole season has been very good. I also noticed it was interesting that Avery Brooks doesn’t appear in all the...
Thought I’d chime in on my viewing of Trials and Tribble ations. This is an episode I’ve seen several times and it’s always a fun watch. They did a great job and their love of TOS shows. Again, in the age of Discovery, my thinking of how Arne Darvin came about is now altered.
I’ll be interested...
The next episode of DS9 in my re-watch is Trials and Tribble ations.
I was in a great mood today for some happy Star Trek. :) I did make MKV files for Star Trek DS9’s Trials and Tribble ations from both the DS9 DVD and the TOS blu ray. It was pretty cool to see that I was given the choice in...
Ha, ha! Thanks Josh, I was going to pull my TOS disc out to make an MKV file of Trials and Tribble-ations. I just got done doing the entire DS9 5th season DVD. If I get it done, I’ll do an A/B test too. :)
I’m looking ahead at the upcoming episodes and one includes Trials and Tribble-ations. I’d forgotten that the TOS blu ray set has this episode upscaled. When I get to this episode, I’ll have to watch that version.
I wrapped up the 4th season last week with Broken Link. I’ll be non-spoilery as Adam is moving along with the episodes. A lot of good stuff happened in the final episodes of the season. I remembered the events with Kira in the previous episode to Broken Link. But I keep thinking these things...
I pressed on with my viewings of Home Front, Paradise Lost and Crossfire.
I had not seen Home Front and Paradise Lost in some time. I did see them during initial airings. It’s been so long that I forgot the events in the second half. It was a good twist to the plan.
Crossfire, I remember too...
I enjoyed The Sword of Kahless and Our Man Bashir.
Spoilers below:
i had not seen the Sword of Kahless for some time. So it was good to see again as I had forgotten the effect of the search and then having the sword in their hands had on Kor and Worf. They both became so consumed by it that...
I’ve moved along with Rejoined, Starship Down and Little Green Men. Three more great and diverse episodes.
I remember when Rejoined was close to airing, there was a story on Entertainment Tonight covering the episode because of a controversial aspect. But they missed the point. To be fair, they...
I liked that in Hippocratic Oath, we see that Bashir realizes that maybe he could really help those Jem‘Hadar with the dependence on the White. He is so into his work and the potential benefit, that O’Brien sees that his friend has lost sight of reality. The Jem’Hadar were bred to be what they...
Hi Adam, ok. I had a comment about The Visitor that I won’t make as you have not seen the entire series. It’s not a big plot point.
I saw Hippocratic Oath and Indiscretion. I strongly remember seeing those episodes on broadcast night. Both had very good and important character moments. I’d...
And tonight I watched The Visitor. This is an episode I avoid because it’s such a strong one, I like to limit the views so that when I do see it, it still packs that emotional punch. Again, I won’t spoil it for Adam.
spoilers: sort of. I place this episode with The City on the Edge of Forever...
I watched The Way of the Warrior, the season 4 premiere last night. I won’t spoil it for Adam. I had not seen it in some time and it was fun to see it again. I had forgotten some of the subtext and plot points and character arcs. It is a really good season premiere!
Yes, I just watched those two episodes and it was interesting to see your reaction Adam. At the risk of being a potential spoiler, I thought they were two very good episodes that are setting up stuff that happens later. There’s a couple of good payoffs.
About Sisko, I noticed on this re-viewing...
