Lots of details in the article.
I've now watched all of the special features. There was one about the season as a whole which was quite interesting. The Sphere episode was initially going to be a bottle episode and then they decided to make it central to the season. Along with the season finale there was a nice feature on...
I am wondering why they didn't air it originally with both parts on the same night. I thought they might have done so, but looking at the forum here, I see they didn't. That would have seemed to be much more of an event. I have seen the special features now on the first 3 discs and am looking...
I understand now, for the most part. They had Runaway paired with Part 1 of the finale. I wasn't sure whether to watch it first or not until they had a scene we hadn't seen yet in "previously." So, went to Runway and then Part 1.
Now done with the series. That was loads of fun. Started...
Resumed this week and just watched Perpetual Infinity last night. Definitely some mind-bending time travel business going on with Burham's mother seeing so much of Burnham's life. Looking forward to seeing the next episode tonight. (Read partway through page 124 in the forum. Lots of good...
Thanks for the reply Josh. We just got to Talos IV and will be taking a little break before finishing off the series. I'll read what you had to say after we finish.
We got season 2 on Blu-Ray this Christmas and are about halfway through so far. It has been quite fun so far. I am a little disappointed that there are only 2 of the Short Treks included. We've seen the Saru one so far - it was placed with the Saru return home episode. We watched it...
Just reread a lot of the pre-release comments and all of the comments through the first 4 episodes I've seen (through page 57, #1140).
It is interesting to read some of the old comments now knowing what has happened. There was at least one person dreading the casting of one actress and she...
Got the Blu-ray on Amazon Prime Day and have been slowly watching it with my wife at dinner rotating with a bunch of other series we watch. We've seen the first disc so far (4 episodes). It has been entertaining so far. After the second episode, my wife said, "well that's the end of that...

Release November 13.
Unfortunately, this is not hard to believe, but I just got an email from [email protected] which promoted a special with CBS All Access. You can try it out for one month free with either the codes VEGAS or DISCOVERMORE. The codes expire August 18. The premier is September 24...
I'll give a second recommendation to the new Dirk Gently series - it has the feel of the Douglas Adams books. If he were alive, I wouldn't have been surprised if he wrote something like this.
I have a quote earlier in this thread which has CBS/Paramount people saying in their stockholder letter that STD has already made a profit from the Netflix overseas fees. It is already a financial success. Any push CBS All Access gets from US audiences is just gravy.
Here is the quote from...
Saw Michael Dorn at a local convention yesterday. He said that he was being "courted" to possibly play an antecedent of Worf. Unfortunately they were only offering 6% of what he made in his last year of TNG. He walked away from that offer.
The first I read about the break my immediate thought was that was to encourage people to sign up for two subscriptions (or one longer than originally planned). I still hate it that the US has to subscribe to CBS All Access while the rest of the world gets it on Netflix.
It really seems that...
Practically every incarnation of Star Trek has had horror stories starting up at one point or another. From what Nicholas Meyer was saying it seems that it was a minor miracle that Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan got made. He started from 5 rejected scripts at the time.
ST:TNG had loads of...
I had a great time at the convention. Nicholas Meyer was very friendly and interesting and he signed a few items of mine and I got a photo with him. The mystery movie was Time After Time. He answered questions after the viewing. No information about Discovery, but plenty about Wrath of Khan...
By the way, Nicholas Meyer's schedule at Farpoint this weekend includes the following:
Complex Villains and Questionable Heroes
Main Stage Q&A appearance
Avoiding Cliché in Your Writing
Nicholas Meyer/Mystery Meyer Movie - We'll show one of the director's favorite films, introduced by the man...
I mentioned it before, but as we are getting close -- Nicholas Meyer will be a guest at Farpoint 24 - February 17-19 -- a local (outside Baltimore) convention that I try to go to every year. I am sure he will have some kind of panel with a Q&A session.
If anyone has any questions that you...
I am hoping that by the time it debuts they will have realized that just having it on CBS All Access is a mistake and maybe they will distribute it through Netflix in the US as well (like they are doing everywhere else in the world).
In the EW article it mentions that the premiere date is now in May. Anyone know when it moved from January or February? I guess it will be ready for a May sweeps network broadcast of the premiere.
By the way, Nicholas Meyer will be a guest at the Farpoint convention near Baltimore February 17-19.
I am still not planning on subscribing to CBS All Access. I might consider it more if they do some deal with Dish Network like Netflix has. I'll wait for Netflix or DVDs if it is any good.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. If this is so, the CBS deserves such a response and should change their distribution model for the show.
At the present time, I have no plans of watching it streaming in any fashion. I will be interested in getting the set if it becomes available...
What they are trying to do is get Star Trek fans to subsidize their profits and boost their pay-for service and then charge for advertising as well. If CBS All Access didn't have advertising then that price might be more understandable, but I believe they may charge something like $9.99 for an...

One interesting bit:
As mentioned previously, I have no plans to subscribe to CBS All Access.
