I'm going to share something creepy about "The Death Merchant." It requires a little background on the scoring process, but I think you'll find it's all worth it.
The scoring takes for each individual TV season were numbered sequentially for the entire season. As an example, "Take Off" from...
We put them together. Every cue is recorded separately with its own slate. Sometimes cues are cut together in the show/movie and I'll duplicate that combo. Other times I'll put shorter cues together for multiple reasons.
The Time Tunnel sets got me through the early parts of COVID last year. I was in a panic that work was going to dry up. I had one big title to work on and I was drawing it out because I thought it all might end. Then Time Tunnel showed up. When I sat down with it I realized I could work on it...
We had a reel of format music that included the main title (with the overlay), the end titles, the bumper, Tony's First Trip and.....one other cue that will be on Volume 2. These were dubs and didn't sound as good as the session recordings, but sounded more like what viewers of the show heard...
I went back to my session just to be sure. The pilot end titles are a re-cut of the End Title. The opening of the pilot version can be heard 11 seconds into the End Title recording.
You've got to save some JW stuff for volume 2. ;)
Although my recollection is the pilot version of the End Title was just a re-edit, which I did not duplicate.
The Time Tunnel mag recordings were all archived to 2" in the 90s, so that was 20 years before we got to Voyage or Giants. I don't know why this was done but explains why it's in such good shape.
Well there's currently a broken link on the site. I've informed the site owner, but in the meantime, here's one more.

Oh my bad, it is March 16, of course. I'm looking at April's releases now and got confused. I'm sure people will be talking about this once the tracklist and samples are released on March 16 and especially when they get the release.
