    Weekly RoundUp 10-9-2012

I was all set to buy up to five Blu-rays when I went in yesterday...but after searching the entire department, all I could find worth buying was Prometheus (which I specifically went for) and Fargo (which fell into the category of an inexpensive upgrade--$4.99!). There were some Criterions...

Nope. My store is still separated in terms of DVD and Blu-ray...but there are already all these different sections/racks/etc. with similar pricing/sales/etc. But, tonight, I was able to browse all the Blu-rays from A-Z. Then I had to look at all the various free-standing racks of Blus...

    Weekly RoundUp 10-9-2012

Nice. =========================== Well, I am no longer an Upgrade & Save virgin. I carried my bag of five DVDs into Best Buy and shopped. I found two Blus to buy (Prometheus @ $19.99 and Fargo @ $9.99). I went up to customer service and gave them my two least desired DVDs. I got...

Thanks, Malcolm. I haven't done an FYE rebate in a long time. I've got two FYEs near me and they have been having much better pricing in the past several months...using nice big yellow plastic cards amongst the titles to indicate some major sales/reductions. My favorite aspect of...

    Weekly RoundUp 10-9-2012

A question about Upgrade & Save to all you veterans of the program. If I walk in there tomorrow with 5 DVDs and get 5 coupons to save $5 on five Blus over $9.99...but only use two of the coupons...can I use the three other coupons at a later date (before the 10-20 expiration date of the...

    Weekly RoundUp 10-9-2012

Hey Malcolm...how's an FYE rebate done these days? Is there any cutting of UPC symbols any more? Or is there an extra UPC sticker on the outside of the cellophane? Or, is no UPC required? Do they need the original receipt...or do they print up an extra receipt for you? I was...

All righty. I had a LOT of catching up to do (to our esteemed review staff). There are now links in the OP to: --Matt's review of Eclipse Series 36 --Matt's review of the 3-D Blu release of Prometheus. --Neil's review of Dial M for Murder --Cameron's review...

    Weekly RoundUp 10-9-2012

Earlier in the thread I noted that I am all too glad to replace my DVD of ET because of the lack of the title on the spine of that DVD packaging. I'm not really anal about packaging (hell, I downsized most of my standard DVD cases to thin-paks. But that lack of "ET" on the spine of the special...

    Weekly RoundUp 10-9-2012

I didn't get to a Target until almost 6pm last night. They only had two of the steelbook versions left (and only a couple non-steelbook copies). After I checked to be sure it had the title of the film printed on the spine, I strode to the cash register and purchased it for $17.09 (Target...

    Weekly RoundUp 10-9-2012

ET for me this week. One of the things that will make me happy about this upgrade is that I always HATED the fact that there was nothing printed on the spine of the ET DVD release. Horrible packaging. As long as the Target steelbook has printing on the spine identifying the title...I might go...

I don't think there's any doubt to any of that, Larry. I just think it's an odd exclusive for Target (and possibly an aggravating retailer exclusive for I Love Lucy fans). If they don't have access to a Target...they've got to wait a month before completing a set.
