DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan

Part 4 was meant to be dark, watered down and a bit grainy but in the original release, the shower scene was grainy but it also contained WAY too much dirt (not grain). On the new transfer, some of the dirt has been removed. As for part 1, I commented on that issue in the review and how it...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan

I just got back from BB and they had gotten 7 copies in stock this morning but they were sold out by the time I got there (2pm). My Wal-Mart and Target were also sold out, which is a good sign.

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan

I still think the acting in the current slashers (post SCREAM) are a lot better than anything we got in the big day of the genre. I think some rather good performances have come through the past ten years or so and I don't think I could say that about the earlier films. In the early days, a good...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan

I've never really considering "acting" an important part to these slasher type horror films. Sometimes the worst it is the better it is for the film. I mean, just take a look at what we were getting in the 80's. "Kids" in their 30's acting like they were 16-18. The acting in FvsJ was no...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan

These credits are the same as the last DVD as well as a 10+ year old VHS I have, which was recorded off Cinemax. This was the first I have heard of this change so perhaps he should wait for someone else to answer this.

Jesse, what's the difference? And you really wouldn't buy this set because of credits? If you let me know the difference I'll check.

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan

Actually, he probably just has better things to do then talk about something he doesn't like. The reason I say this is because nearly every actor interviewed on this set says something about not wanting to be in a "horror" film. These same comments were made by actors back in the 1930's, 40's...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan

Colin answered this but here's something else. If you are watching the first film, at the last chapter you can push "next chapter" on your remote and it will take you to the start of the next film. Another interesting thing is that the director of 8 claims he originally wrote a screenplay...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan

You're gonna have to point these out because I don't see them. As for TWITCH, whenever F13 does a scene with the exact same shots then yes, I'd call that more than just an accident. Perhaps you missed it or didn't watch closely enough but there's more than one murder that uses the exact...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan

Jeff---The NY, NY music is still there. From what I gathered, Paramount has NO control over the Alice Cooper song so they could have paid $10 million and still might not have been able to get it. Bernard---The Spanish subs are on all eight films. I'm going to expand the V/A section soon...
