If that remark was prompted by my post that mentioned it, it was from an article I'd read (which I said) online on MLB or ESPN, I don't recall now, and not from any Dodgers fan. In any case, it seems to me from all the attention it's getting in articles, that you and the Braves are going to be...
As for Tom Glavine's (whom I've disliked since his days as an MLB players rep.) remarks...here's something someone else wrote:
Glavine’s argument for absolution invited more questions than answers, unfortunately. He said in that interview: “Everybody in baseball is trying to cheat, don’t kid...
I'm sure 27 of 30 baseball teams fans don't have as much of a vested interest in this and are able to move on from it in whatever fashion, or not on occasions they fancy, but those teams weren't really involved in the 2017 post season. It's easier not to care when you aren't affected. Fans in...

As for moving on... What did MLB and Rob Manfred, or even and maybe especially the players involved, give as a resolution to the cheating that would allow or facilitate this movement? As a Dodgers fan, here's the biggest reason I haven't moved on: Clayton Kershaw, who had pitched a fantastic...
Thoughts about the 2021 WS: Not the games themselves, but the presentation.
GAMBLING: After MLB's decades long purported high-mindedness about Pete Rose and gambling and the fact that MLB has long barred players, managers, and coaches from any form of gambling on baseball, legal or otherwise...
I happened to notice something interesting...in the past six years,
look who's won the World Series titles...a team from every division:
American League
EAST
Baltimore Orioles
Boston Red Sox 2018
New York Yankees
Tampa Bay Rays
Toronto Blue Jays
CENTRAL
Chicago White Sox
Cleveland Indians...
World Series begins today, so is this the kind of optics MLB wants in the headlines on the day of their big showcase? Nothing riles up baseball fans more than talks of work stoppages, strikes and the like.
MLB 'Almost Certain' to Have First Work Stoppage in 26 Years, Per Report
MLB is...
I'll give congrats to the Braves, but not there with the Astr*s. Jeff Passan wrote an ESPN article about you have to admit the Astr*s are playing great baseball, but, hey, MLB allowed them that luxury by not punishing any players for their--transgressions--nor blemishing their record in any...
Sometimes I listen to the Dodgers radio broadcasters Rick Monday and Charley Steiner while I have the game on the TV. Charley Steiner made me laugh out loud at one point. You know how we say that watching a ball game there is always a chance we'll see something we've never seen before? Well, I...

I have to say that meme irks me as it's not true. I heard that from that announcer, too, and rolled my eyes. I know people like to keep repeating that about Dodger fans, but they don't leave any more than happens at other stadiums. Did you notice what they showed was a line of cars, like...
DODGERS 6 - BRAVES 5
What games in this NLCS series! Like they were in the Wild Card and NLDS series.
What Vin Scully has said that I posted along the way in this thread: "In the long history of the Dodgers, both in Brooklyn and Los Angeles, nothing has ever come easy."
Just a beautiful day...

Some minor league teams are experimenting with the, what is the proper name?--computer called balls & strikes behind home plate. There would still be an umpire behind home plate for other calls.

The thinking about that from one source: The Giants stacked their right-handed hitters at the top of their lineup against Urias and the Dodgers in Game 2. Knebel starting against them would take away the Giants' platoon advantage in the first inning, potentially shortening the game even further...
I know these are the rules, but should they be? A team that won 106 games has to play a Wild Card Game. The team doesn't get home field advantage in the NLCS over a team that won 18 fewer games in their division. The World Series round does allow the team with the most wins regardless. (What's...
The question prompted me to try to find out. All I can find out is that he said when he got the idea he texted his jeweler where he's gotten gold chains and such before and that's where he got them. So, they're not like some plastic Mardi Gras beads or anything. He can afford some nice ones, at...
Good to see Dodgers doing well in the post-season. (I mean former Dodgers.)
Kiké Hernandez setting records for the Red Sox.
Alex Verdugo 6 hits in 13 at bats scoring 5 runs for the Red Sox.
Yasmani Grandal creating momentum (or havoc) in White Sox win.
Alex Wood and Jake McGee feelin' it for...
Dodgers fall to the Giants 1-0. Ugghhh.
Tonight's game felt like the beginning of this commercial to me all night:
(Dodgers were the kids and the mom in the chair was the Giants.)
Another curve in the Post Season: Chicago White Sox / H*ust*n Astr*s game postponed until tomorrow.
___
And White Sox pitcher Ryan Tepera throwing sign stealing accusations at the Astr*s.
___
By the way, here's Close Call Sports, again, explaining why the correct call was made in the Grandal...
I dont think you can actually say that would've happened. If the Rays had gotten a run in, who knows? They may have gotten another. The Red Sox may have played somehwat dfferently being under more pressure. This way the Marlins were obviously shocked at the very least and the Red Sox relieved.
I agree on both counts. From an ESPN article:
The rule was interpreted correctly, but this feels wrong -- and it would feel equally as wrong were the Rays the ones benefiting from it. Renfroe misplayed the ball off the wall. Instead of grabbing it with his hand or glove, Renfroe misjudged the...
I think you're on to something.
Anyone notice the sign the Giants have in their ball park, proudly proclaiming: "Remember '51." It's nice they're celebrating their cheating past that way.
