Makes sense in person off camera, but this is a movie scene and something like this would totally make sense:
Audiences may have heard his name before, but most would likely not know what he looked like.
So there's that. And also that "double s" sounds much different than "double b".
Your post is you saying stuff. Who are you?
So far I've posted two sources. Whether you believe it or not at least I have a source for it. An interviewer who brings it up to her, and if he brought it up to her by saying that Tab says, "Terrific job, Fosse" and she replies that they left that ad...
Remember there was talk of a remake of Damn Yankees about a decade ago:
In this 2009 Playbill column by Michael Buckley, he writes, in the Various & Sundry section:

No, she was really great in it. Everyone I mentioned this to recently is of the opinion it was a great performance (from their knowledge and memories) and to a tee they were all shocked and surprised when I mentioned she didn't even get a Tony nomination for it that year.
I think it has more to...

Tab Hunter discusses all this (and more) in his book, Tab Hunter Confidential. If I recall correctly, he said because of the strike they had to use the soundtrack album to record the voice tracks. He talks about George Abbott not wanting him cast in it. He knew Tab was gay and so felt he...
