I’ve had that on my iTunes wishlist for some time now. It has never gone on sale.

I just stumbled across The Tin Star on iTunes. Apparently Paramount quietly put it out in a new HD master last September. The preview is in HD with a 1.85:1 aspect ratio and looks darn good. Paramount Presents possibility? I'm going to have to pick it up at some point.

If the iTunes streaming version looks exactly like the beautiful version that was on HBOMax a while back, I need to reconsider buying it on iTunes, which I haven’t done because we were expecting an Archive announcement.

You‘re talking about the 1936 version, Three Godfathers, right? Because the 1948 version, was fully restored last year for HBOMax and looks impeccable.

I’ll be damned. Yeah, I’m confused about Paramount’s 4K upgrade policies. They seem to have made the decision to start holding them back on the “Paramount Presents” releases (perhaps to co-ordinate them with future 4K disc releases?) and then they just randomly put out other deep catalog titles...

The running time on that theatrical cut must be PAL speedup because the original running time is 1 hour 52 mins. I've only seen the Laserdisc (theatrical) and the DVD (expanded). I of course bought the Blu-ray (Definitive) 9 years ago and have yet to watch it! Maybe if I do, it will come out...

Yeah and as a new purchase for me it imported into MA as 4K “owned” even though iTunes is the only place that actually has 4K availability right now.

And you fail to mention the price tag is only $4.99! That’s probably the quickest impulse buy I’ve ever made. Dracula now replaces It Happened One Night as the oldest movie available in 4K. As well as the oldest with HDR.
