What would be great is if the iPhone can control the ATV4K well enough for this to not have to use the TV.
There's a remote app built-in (on iOS), but it doesn't seem capable enough for that.
I'll probably just try adding a small monitor (via my Anthem prepro's 2nd HDMI out) to use for this so...
No idea about using Airplay (from your phone) for that, but if you're not getting any spatial audio at all w/ your AppleTV 4K for songs that should have it, then check this I guess:

I actually often like streaming from my PC (using iTunes) over DTS Play-Fi to my HT when I'm at my PC... although something flakey has been happening w/ my iTunes program on the PC possibly...

I just tried adding an album, but of course, it won't let me because I haven't "synced" my library. Looks like it probably can't be done unless I allow Apple to do...
I basically felt that way... until I was no longer the only one who wanted regularly to be able choose the music in my family. That and it isn't always so easy (and affordable) to find and own what I might want anymore...
Still, I'm not all that sold on streaming music so far after subscribing...
