I'm still on my previous annual offer at that same rate (for P+ and Showtime) from very end of last year... or I'd do that deal again now. Wonder if they'd make me that offer if I cancel now (to take effect in ~3.5 months)... :P
_Man_
Most on that list seem extremely obscure, but I woulda given this one a shot... IF I had even realized it's on there at all -- don't recall ever seeing it mentioned/promoted anywhere at all unlike most of their reasonably interesting shows.:rolleyes:
Granted, I haven't watched much...
I guess you hadn't been paying attention, heh. Don't really blame yah, but yeah, this was announced a while back... and they had been promoting the combo even long before that point... as I've actually added Showtime to my P+ subscription on 2 separate occasions using some promo offer over the...
Given how much they typically charge for their disc releases and my increasing preference to just stream shows (vs movies), I'd prefer going that route too, especially at the oft-enough recurring sale prices.
I'll just buy discs for the ones I really love when they become more affordable...
Well, the knuckleheads at P+ did it again... by seemingly removing ST: Prodigy faster than one might expect. Had thought they'd at least wait til end of month, but nope, it's already gone... and much like w/ almost all of Young Sheldon, you wouldn't have known that was coming so very...
Pretty sure there was more before, but either way, they've suddenly also removed most of the current/recent season -- and it's very odd what got left behind, ie. basically 4 middle-ish episodes plus the finale for S6.
I've seen something somewhat similar before w/ a couple other such shows...
I still haven't gotten around to checking it out yet, but that looks oddly (very) anachronistic and revisionist (probably intended to be "inclusive"), especially for a prequel, but not just.
I don't really recall, but where was Rydell High supposed to be?
_Man_
Ugh! Looks like they musta just recently removed nearly all of Young Sheldon unannounced. I was dragging my feet to catch up on S6 and only watched about 1/2 of that season, and now, the entire 2nd half, except season finale, is gone (along w/ all the other earlier seasons... though those are...
Well, that's a bit of a bummer. I already recently paid for the full year of Showtime add-on... albeit it was at 1/2 price. Hope not too much of interest get removed. Guess I better switch gears and start binging on Showtime before more gets removed...
_Man_
Guess you just missed their recent 50%-off annual subscription deal that ended a couple days into this new year -- it was extended from their previous BF/CM deal.
I made use of it on New Year's Day myself... and also added their bonus bundle offer for Showtime as well since it was so cheap...
I'm sure he was just (at least 1/2) kidding... but then again, we are talking the rather nebulous Paramount+ here... and no, of course, I ain't talkin' about all the Star Trek (and Twilight Zone) content on there, LOL... :P
_Man_
They probably should combine/merge them since neither one alone offers nearly enough worthwhile content to compete in the current streaming landscape (of course IMHO)... that is, at least w/out very substantial ongoing discounts anyway...
_Man_
Personally, I don't want them merged that way, which forces everyone to pay for each combined platform w/ less/no options, if one really only cares/wants one set/type of content and not so much/often the other (or might only consider ad-supported for one, but not the other)... unless they...
Probably just them being clueless and/or simply unable to help, so they pretend/wishful-hope this addresses the problem (enough)...
The whole service/platform has been very sub-par/underwhelming all along anyway, so what else is new? IF only we could get our Star Trek fixes some other way...
Feels like you could really use a smack-my-head (or maybe rather visceral smack-their-heads!), not just shake-my-head, emoji when responding to them, LOL...

Beyond what John (and you) subsequently pointed out, did that tech support CSR really include that Picard quote in her/his sig???
Seems like he/she (or very likely that whole CSR dept and their higher-ups) doesn't understand the concept of eliminating completely irrational...
It was during the (multi-step?) cancelation process just before I would confirm canceling, not after.
That was also back in Jan right around when there were other offers (across the various services) as well IIRC, so maybe they don't offer that anymore (for now)... or maybe they'll offer again...
Yep.
The 1st season or two were clearly best, and it definitely seemed to get progressively worse... although IMHO the latest season is definitely a fair bit better than the one that ended at the beginning of the pandemic -- well, you might have to overlook the patchwork-ish way/style they...
Have to agree, especially for Paramount+. I was pleasantly surprised their app on ATV4K seems to properly default to multichannel track (and not the usually annoyingly much louder stereo PCM track) unlike their Roku app the last I checked -- maybe they've fixed that issue for Roku app too, but...
BTW, I just checked trying to cancel my Paramount+ subscription via their Windoze app, and they offered me 50%-off the next 2 months to not cancel, so I just went w/ that instead...
_Man_
I don't know any streaming service that lets you cancel via the app itself, except maybe their Windoze app, if they actually have one, but not all of them have that nor would you necessarily normally use them.
Otherwise, they all seem to require you do it on their websites instead...
_Man_
Seems like an odd move for them if they really want people to stay subscribed year-round... unless they're super confident anyone interested in Trek would just own the discs (and/or digital) I guess...
_Man_
That's strange they claim non-support for the Roku Ultra. I assume you told them other 4K HDR content on Paramount+ stream correctly as 4K HDR, right?
I haven't had access on my 4K setup in some time, so I can't verify now, but I had no problems doing 4K HDR via a few-yo Roku Premiere+ on...
Yeah, I've being saying that for like a year now. Very annoying especially when binging shows that could really benefit a lot from the DD+ track, especially since the volume diff also tends to be big between the two -- seems like the default stereo PCM runs 10-15db louder than the DD+.
I...
Priced to maximize... ad revenue... and I expect they really mean that (a whole lot), so no thanks.
There's really not much I've wanted to see on the service anyway beyond the new Star Trek original series (and I'm actually starting to grow a bit tired of Discovery). A month or two of binging...
No worries. You were clear enough in the subsequent reply.
And the issue seems resolved sometime yesterday.
I'm still curious though why the AppleTV app portal version of CBS All Access includes lots more episodes for some shows than the dedicated CBS All Access app -- I would think it'd be...
Figures I guess... they might also be running their QA testing for the new Paramount+ app on their production system, instead of a separate, dedicated QA system, and causing problems for paying customers...
Still pretty odd how it was dropping access to some episodes, not necessarily all, for...
Do they really say "all episodes available"?
AFAIK, that has never been true on the CBS All Access app for at least some shows, including some still-in-production shows like Mom. Probably wasn't (quite) true for the AppleTV app portal version either... though that does seem to offer (much)...
When I checked last night, more than 1/2 of the episodes, maybe including most/all of S3 (and S4), seemed missing for The Good Wife.
IF they stay gone, then the AppleTV subscription version may be your best option -- that also seems the case for a few other shows I've checked...
