Same here. After Shout Factory decided not to go further with their releases I figured that would be it . We’d have to live with SF, Mill Creek,Alpha, and whatever else we could dredge up.
Then after Sam Nelson’s campaign seemed to lose steam I thought that was it.
Then we got the excellent...
So, with the excitement of todays deliveries behind us this page quiets down a little while we enjoy seasons 1and 2.
Never fear- seasons 3 and 4, are right around the corner, as is the announcement of the release of seasons 5 and 6 !!!!!!
Mine just arrived. I previewed The Rivals and it looks great and in the proper ratio in my OPPO.
I think the above poster who had issues might meet to adjust the aspect ratio in his player.
A lot of episodes per disc , but they still look great!
4x3 ratio would have small bars on either side of the screen. All classic television plays that way. It’s the way it was filmed.
If they closed in to accommodate a 16x 9 TV you would lose info on top and bottom of the screen.
Mine haven’t arrived yet , but I’ll take Gary!s word they look fantastic!
Actually ,SF did release some Ozzie And Harriet DVDs a while back , maybe 50 or so episodes total. Pretty half- hearted rekease with some episodes running short. I have them but will dispose of them after MPI completes their rollout.

Hi ! I agree with all you’re saying. I bought every one of the westerns and detective shows Timeless released . I miss the company and I wish they were still around to give us vintage shows. After Timeless was acquired by Shout Factory , those releases gradually stopped. Poor sales we’re told...
That’s probably true , but I heard they did pretty well with Dobie Gillis and Sgt Bilko which were the last two B&W sitcoms they released. I’d guess that things like Tombstone Territory probably didn’t do well for them.
No one has mentioned this, but MPI has done a nice job with the cover photos and artwork . Very classy and subdued, befitting the laid back nature of the show.
B&W photos can be a nice look fir a vintage fifties B&W show , although color photos can be nice too.
I agree with what you are saying . I am trying to be optimistic. 4 seasons , plus the Time-Life sets is a pretty good start.
BUT, if it were up to me , I’d love to see a complete 14 season mega set immediately! Hey , you plunk down your $250-300, and you have it all.
But, I’m optimistic, we’ll...
But I think we’ll get them eventually. MPI has to release them slowly so that the product is absorbed into the market and they recoup their investment.
Bachelor Father is a show we often overlook when talking about vintage B&W sitcoms. But it was popular in it’s time and fondly remembered. Very pleasant like Ozzie And Harriet, My Three Sons and Donna Reed Show. I’d love to see it get a legitimate DVD release.
My guess is that MPI might be most...
I’ve ordered all four seasons. If MPI had to deal with UCLA Film Library , I’m sure their expenditure was significant. So I’m supporting their work in hopes the entire series will see the light if day.
If MPI does well with O&H , I’ll bet , we’ll see other classic series from them.
Remember a...
