Beautiful. Emotional. Satisfying. Overjoyed the show focused on the characters and put the mythology in the background. Called Jack having a short tenure as the Guardian and Hurley taking over from him! Loved it.

My hunch is that Jack's tenure as the Guardian of the Light will be short lived. He and Desmond will team up to 'destroy' the MIB. Hurley's statement of relief at not having to take that job may come back to haunt him.

A return to form this week - thank goodness. As to what Across the Sea offered - could have been done in one scene.

The sunken island shot may have not been convincing but, for me, the cave shot was downright hokey. And cheesey, And jarring. And worst of all, underwhelming.

Which he has no idea of where or what it is or whether it exists anymore. Is it in Tunisia where the donkey wheel sent Ben? Initially this was probably true but now it seems to have been reduced to MIB just wanting to getting off the island period. Why did the dead mother show up only to...

On a separate note what do people think when MIB says he wants to go home? Since he has never been off the island, he is already at home. Does he mean: a) he wants to be anywhere but the island? b) he wants to die? c) or is it as simple as home is where the heart is?

None taken. I maintain the questions they answered with one obvious exception were unimportant. And they ABSOLUTELY raised new questions about new characters I don't care about and will never be answered. Plus the light in the cave shot is the all time cheesiest shot in the entire run of...

Why a background episode with new questions and few answers to old ones? Maybe future payoff. Right now am seriously bummed out.

I found Jin and Sun's last moments together extremely poignant and the whole sequence was beautifully shot - the last shot of their hands drifting apart - inspired. Almost made it through the episode dry eyed until Hurley - again - did me in on the beach. Damn you Hurley! No, wait. God bless...
