Normally I'd think Monday but they did post July's titles on the 14th last April. *Shrugs*
Either way, we'll know in half a hour. 5:00 PM drops have been dead for a good 5 years now.
20th Century Fox had a distribution deal with ABC Video for about 20 years covering the Selznick and Cinerama Releasing catalogs and dating back to the Magnetic Video era. Since they always bundled the four Selznicks and Lifeboat together on various labels, you therefore had the Fox Five.
Disney owns all of the old "Fox Five" (ie: the four Selznick films + Lifeboat), so its their call where Spellbound goes. I imagine Criterion probably does have Spellbound though. If it was with Kino (like with Lifeboat and Paradine Case), it would probably already be on blu-ray already.
JULY:
The Watermelon Woman
OH MY GOD THEY'RE ACTUALLY RELEASING AFTER HOURS AFTER WHAT 15 YEARS?!?!? (UHD)
Bud Boetticher's Ranown Westerns. (UHD)
Breathless (UHD)
One False Move (UHD)
I'm beginning to think they're saving EO for spine 1200.
Well I'll tell you exactly what it will bring: absolutely nothing. No HDR pass according to the listing.
So yeah... why would you give a film which in its current state is borderline 8mm in picture resolution a UHD? All they're doing is basically inviting complaints from idiots who don't know...
