Some really great things coming in January: SOURCE January 1: 12 oz. Mouse, Seasons 1 & 2 42nd Street, 1933 All the President's Men, 1976 Apple & Onion, Season 1B The Autobiography Of Miss Jane Pittman, 1974 (HBO) Batman Begins, 2005 Batman Beyond Batman Beyond: The Return of the...

I've been out of the HBO Max loop for a while. Any improvement over the lack of classic TV shows on the service? I was severely disappointed at launch and within the first month and a half. Thanks in advance for your time.

I really don't get the whole fuss about the GWTW situation. They took it down and will bring it back with a disclaimer and maybe a discussion panel that will well... discuss the stereotypes presented in the film. From all the articles that I've read, all very reputable sources and with direct...

Well, that's probably not gonna be a surprise to many, but still a bummer. I just don't see any streaming service paying the music fees. Sadly, it seems that this wonderful show will remain without a proper physical or on demand release forever:

Wrong, NBC had both broadcast and streaming rights to the series until 2025. Warner had to renegotiate the contract in order to be able to have the films on the service from Day 1. They were apparently negotiating up until very recently and managed to come to an agreement.

Probably not, but if you end up travelling, downloads should be able to get the job done for the duration of your trip, unless it's super long.

I specifically said that I expect stuff to be added OVER TIME, didn't I? Never imagined that there would be absolutely nothing at launch. I didn't want everything to be there from the start, but had at least a modest expectation that some shows are gonna make it lol On a separate note, the...

So you can speak for all people out there? People were expecting some form classic television to be present, those shows were just examples. If you have no interest in them, good for you. There's life outside of this forum where people discuss the service, just saying.

What you thought and what the general public perception of said service is, are two completely different things. Many people expected at least shows like Night Court, Growing Pains and Dallas to be present, as they're very popular and are not tied to any other streaming service. Glad I didn't...

I like how the mobile app lets you browse and search for content before even signing up. It gives you the chance to see if there's anything that interests you. Fans of classic Television Shows however are in for a rude awakening....

Interesting. Thanks for the information. In the past all they said about the Falcon Crest releases stopping, apart from abysmal sales, was that the film elements were in pretty bad shape and that it would take quite an effort to remaster and clean it up properly for a release. I guess things...

To be honest, I'd be over the moon if we get what Warner Archive has released so far, even if it takes some time. There's only so much money in my budget for DVDs, even though I try to slowly collect everything that's on my list. There's just so much stuff. I'm young can trying to catch up on...

As far as I am concerned, they can curate their movies all they want (even though there's plenty I want to see that has never been made available) , but at least provide us with the entire Warner TV library over time....

Just be cautiously optimistic. It may take some time for the vault to open up. I'm thinking that at first they might bank on well known films and shows to be able to attract the general audience, while still providing us classic film and tv buffs with enough meat on the bone to keep us...

Some of Warner's biggest TV & Film hits are 25 - 30+ years old. I really don't think that they are not gonna put Growing Pains and GIlligan's Island on, just because they're 30+ years old. I'd like to think that If Warner Archive has it restored and released, then there's a gread chance that...

Alright, people! Tomorrow's the big day. Fingers crossed it has a good amount of classic TV & Film content although the wording "we are a curated service" that I heard Bob Greenwald say on a podcast about HBO Max today worries me greatly. You can find the podcast here -

What is kinda disappointing is the fact that the Sesame Street legacy seasons won't all be available at once. They will be rotated throughout the year. I know that no one can watch all episodes in the span of one or two years, but it would have been cool to be able to sample whatever legacy...

Here's a link to the full press release: https://pressroom.warnermediagroup.com/us/media-release/hbo-max-launch-may-27th I'm both optimistic and pessimistic about the service. I really don't like the wording of that - "a selection of classic films curated in partnership with TCM". The word...
