It was a little bit of a blink and you missed it thing but it came back with a couple of the deleted scenes reincorporated as an extended opening. I think if you have the disc, although it doesn’t include the alternate cut as a different version, it does have all of the footage presented as...
Doctor Strange hasn’t yet completed his magic box to send them away when he sent Peter to round up the villains, so it was important to stop them from doing more harm until Strange could devise a solution.
It’s a plot point you didn’t enjoy, but it’s one well in keeping with the character’s cosmic comic origins. Not liking something doesn’t make it a cheat.
I should check out now to avoid spoilers but wanted to reiterate for everyone going: have a fantastic time!
I look forward to discussing the film and reading all of your thoughts once I’m able to join in!
I could almost work with people being sneaky like that because it at least shows some acknowledgment of a rule.
This has been frustrating because there are notices at every stop along the way. Buy a ticket online, it tells you you have to wear a mask before the purchase completes. Pick it up...
To borrow your phrase, we’ll see what happens :)
I get how frustrating all of this is for everyone from all angles. I have lots of empathy for everyone. I hope to be able to have access to a wider range of activities when vaccines are authorized for young children and once all of the elderly...
I respect that too.
I think the thing that really bums me out is when people won’t follow the posted rules (and I am no way lumping you in that category, Jeff). For instance, my state just put in an indoor masking mandate. That made me feel more comfortable with going to the movies on this past...
I wonder if that’s not the real reason. I’ve been to several sold out IMAX shows at other locations where seats comparable to those seemed to be put on hold as house seats as it gets close to a sellout in case there’s an issue where the theater needs to move a patron. That happened to me when...
They know legitimate critics won’t accept those terms and they don’t care. Those critics will buy a ticket for Thursday just like everyone else and write it up overnight, or they’ll skip it entirely, and it won’t make the slightest difference in the box office results anyway.
What I consider...
Yeah, I totally get that and in principle I agree, but nonetheless they charge a fee for a service I find useful so that’s that.
Ticketmaster, stub hub, and other brokers that add 30-50% of the price in fees are outrageous. But I’ll accept a $1 fee for a $26 IMAX ticket. If it was $10 thatd be...
Yeah but most of the different chains have loyalty programs that waive the fee in some capacity, so it might be something where you get hit with a $1/ticket fee if you’re only going once a year, but if you’ve got a $5 membership to their loyalty program they forgo it. The free Fandango...
Unfortunately there’s little incentive for them to do so. The tickets sold out anyway. They made the maximum amount of money possible for that showtime. Why spend money on an infrastructure improvement that’ll only be needed for two or three movies a year when all the tickets sell anyway? It...
That is the biggest thing this movie has going in terms of roping me in. I’ll be excited to see the other Spideys if they show up but I’m always in for a series of withering put downs from Cumberbatch.
I think it’ll ultimately come down to whoever had the strongest contract language - both of these films were shuffled due to the pandemic and I don’t think it’ll be so much up to individual theaters as it will be what the contractual obligations are.
That it’s being shown in an expanded ratio...
Again, I just don’t understand this knee-jerk, it’s a terrible idea that shouldn’t even be up for consideration reaction when we have absolutely no context to understand this decision in. If making 23 successive critical and commercial successes in a row doesn’t buy the benefit of the doubt...
I think we have 12 years and 23 films worth of evidence that they do. Feige and Disney were fully prepared to let Spidey go rather than make a Spidey film under terms that were disagreeable to them. If that’s not enough to earn him the benefit of the doubt then I don’t know what is.
