While I’d always love to see more of Ewan as Obi-Wan, I’m not sure why this is considered news. The mini-series had always been intended as a one-off limited series, and was announced and promoted as such. These clickbait sites are pretty desperate for attention so they can monetize wasting your...
I don’t think there’s anything of value in that so-called article. Buried several paragraphs in is this quote:
“there has been no indication so far from Lucasfilm that a second season is even being considered”
Everything else is just clickbait speculation.

Fascinating article and well worth a read
What I liked about the Vader voice in this show is that it very much sounded like Jones, but with some of the cadences of Christensen’s own voice. These...
I finally got around to watching this and found the whole documentary to be very engaging - and the moments that had McGregor and Christensen together again I found genuinely moving.
I especially loved that little moment where they’re watching the end of Episode III together and joking about...
I was particularly glad to see her onscreen again. She lost years of her life to an abusive cult she was coerced into joining and it just makes me happy to see her free of that and reclaiming her life. No one messes with Aunt Beru!
I think that’s very much true. I have a tremendous amount of both for them so this show is most definitely in my wheelhouse. This does for me what Mando does for most other viewers.
I kinda figured that was the point, to make that association - another in a long tradition of Star Wars visuals rhyming across different films/shows/eras.
Regarding Reva, I think there was a key line in an earlier episode that may have gotten missed by some of the audience. I don’t recall what it was verbatim but it was something to the effect of, I was taken from my home twice without my choice.
I don’t think her character arc is as simple as...
Magnificent. Heartbreaking. Brutal.
This week’s episode, all the episodes really, have been well worth the seventeen year wait. I never thought we’d get anything like this. What a blessing.
It’s funny you mention that because I definitely felt that this version of Vader felt like an in between point between the character in A New Hope and Anakin in Revenge of the Sith - it sounds almost like it’s Hayden’s cadence coming out of Jones’ mouth. In other words, it’s fantastic.
Just that shot of Vader charging towards the camera and that sequence. Great stuff. I feel the presence of old school Vader but I can also feel bits of Hayden’s Anakin in there, the anger, the temper, the rush to movement. With all of the legacy characters here they’re really doing a tremendous...
And a phenomenal one at that - I think she’s been utterly fantastic in the two episodes so far. I couldn’t believe it was the same person from The Queen’s Gambit (she had a supporting role on that show but the characters are so wildly different that I never made the connection). As far as “love...
I really don’t understand humans sometimes:

Kudos to Disney/Lucasfilm for trying to help and offering support, but it shouldn’t even be necessary in the first place. It’s the...
I really liked her too. For me, she did a great job of linking up the prequel films with the originals by making me believe that she was the daughter of Natalie Portman and also that she could grow up to be Carrie Fisher. That’s not necessarily an easy line to straddle but I thought she did so...
Sweet!
I rewatched the prequels this week and it was fantastic. I always love those films but it’s the first time in nearly 20 years that I’ve watched them where I knew there was more Ewan Obi-Wan around the corner - it made them feel a little more alive and relevant like they were new again...
I had asked earlier about Rebels and the consensus here seems to be that this show will take place before the events of Rebels, which would mean that it would not be necessary to watch it before Obi-Wan.
My wife - who does not enjoy the prequels - said that she was thinking of joining me in rewatching them. I told her she was absolutely welcome to but that I genuinely love the movies so she can only watch if she doesn’t complain about them throughout.
I am now living in the basement.
:D
Thanks guys - I’m trying to get my rewatch ducks all lined up and I knew the prequels were getting revisited but I wasn’t sure if I should have peeked at Obi-Wan and Vader in Rebels too. Based on this chronology, it sounds like watch the prequels, watch the new Obi-Wan, and then the Rebels...
I don’t really see where he would fit - his appearance with Obi-Wan in Rebels was pretty definitive (for both characters) and I’m glad they’re not simply remaking animated episodes as live action ones.
You’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy...
(My hometown still thinks it’s 1969, and everyone is still dressed like they’re about to leave for Woodstock. :D)
I saw the HBO documentary about the cult that Piesse fell victim to, rooted for her as she got out of it, and the whole time thought, “no one messes with Aunt Beru!”
I’m especially glad to see that she’s back. She deserves the break, and I can’t wait to cheer her on in the role.
Pretty much every year I do a Star Wars revisit and pretty much every time the prequels still come out on top for me. Whatever minor cosmetic issues there might be with dialogue or delivery (which are still parts of the films in the series everyone loves too) are far outweighed by the scope and...
Somewhere in there is the germ of a good idea but it’s buried underneath a lot of showy stuff that‘a ultimately underwhelming. And the resolution has little weight because it caters to one of Abrams’ worst instincts: the elimination of distance between locations. It was also a problem in Force...
I think in my case the issue is simply that the Rogue One movie didn’t do anything with his character that would make me interested in seeing more of him. I’ll check out the show but that’s more about it being a Star Wars property than being specifically interested.
I’m really digging Mando on...
I’m struggling to be in any way interested in the Andor show because I didn’t care for his character in the film and we know how his story ends, which limits how much they can do. We know how Obi-Wan’s story ends too but I care about that character and the actor portraying him so it holds more...
