I really wanted Moon Pilot on Blu - they have an old full screen DVD but I wanted a release in its original aspect ratio. I didn’t have serious hopes it would be released but given that they did Monkeys Go Home, it seemed anything was possible!

FWIW, I was asked to participate in a survey a few months or a year ago about what kind of releases I wanted for featured titles - I suspect many of us got the same poll - and one of the options was for new combo packs of related films. I guess that option got some positive feedback.

Disney’s stock isn’t tanking, and releasing a now-obscure nearly 100 year old film that the general public isn’t very familiar with in a physical media format that they’re no longer interested in would have no bearing whatsoever on the company’s financials.

The ad in the DMC mailer confirms the inclusion of the TV special. The only unknown is whether it will be presented in SD or HD. An HD master for it does exist.

Why wouldn’t it be? It’s been on offer for years. Every so often they’ll change the free blanket or whatever other trinket comes with it, but it’s been a pretty standard code for some time now.

Yeah, I’ve been debating for a while now if I like the movie enough to splurge on the UK edition. I watched it all the time as a kid (they would show it in school in 30 minute chunks whenever outdoor recess was canceled due to weather) but I don’t know if that translates into “must own” as an adult.

Some of the detail they wanted took a long time to find, I actually think I lowballed the response time for the email. They wanted the make and model of each disc player I owned and the firmware numbers for each setup. That’s a lot of fine detail to ask when there’s no replacement program...
