I wouldn’t assume that. There was clearly no check-off sheet that listed what was required to be on the disc. This isn’t the absence of one chapter stop, it’s the omission of an entire sound track. Clearly quality control was/is lacking.
I bought the set when it dropped to $50 and I had the rewards points to pay for it. We just finished Rear Window. It’s a marvelous film and looks wonderful to. I did notice that after “The End” there are no end credits. And it starts playing the first extra, “Rear Window Ethics.” I didn’t...
It seems to me there are too many freezes on the vertigo disc to think it’s anything but a manufacturing defect. I will definitely be waiting the the bugs to shake out on this set before buying.
So the UK Psycho is the correct mono. Who decides what goes on a disc when it’s released non-domestically? Is someone in the UK insisting that Universal send them the right stuff, or...?
So is this a result of the studio intentionally screwing up the mono track or is it just carelessness? Why is it so hard to get it right the first time?
