How is Obi Wan going to kill Vader without wiping out the OT? I guess they shouldn’t have put him at Obi Wan’s mercy. Maybe damaged and he gets away? I do get that it’s hard for him to kill Vader, kinda. He doesn’t know what’s coming in the OT, does he?
Oh, of course the filmmaker intended exactly that. The bad guy redeems himself at the end, and the audience goes “awww.” It’s a Hollywood staple. Except Vader is not a bad guy, he’s evil personified. He’s worse than Hannibal Lector when you compare their crimes.
