Star Wars: The Last Jedi discussion thread(Warning: Spoilers!)

I know that since you put it in quotes, you agree, I just feel the need to reinforce that it is not "political correctness" to satisfy the need that members of the audience have to see themselves on screen. Wow, that's a tortured sentence, but you get the idea.

The internet brings out the wors in people. A lot of these people wouldn’t have the courage to say to someone’s face what they type in the comfort of the rock from which they sometimes crawl out from under.

In Little Rock we saw The Darkest Hour on a Tuesday (discount day) and for the two of us it was less than $12.

IMHO, Leia was seriously wounded by the explosion. She didn’t save herself immediately, and when she did, she barely had the strength to save herself. She is in an extreme environment. Remember she had to be replaced. This the first time she’s used to force, to my recollection.

I recall that the score during that scene is also outstanding.

So you're hoping the next film will be good. My goodness, it's refreshing to read that. It gives me a "New Hope".

I liked this movie very much, but I’m not yet attempting to rank it.

In one paragraph you say box office success isn’t an indicator of quality and that it is. Seems you’re inconsistent here. I think a movie can be good or great and fail at the BO. So there can’t be a first time? What he said!

Members of my audience laughed, I laughed. I found it natural that Luke would be living off the land. I think the quote of Han from the first movie takes care of the hyperspace issue...there isn’t one. Didn’t notice seams of holes, but then, I went into the theater to be entertained. The...

And I agree theRen was more tolerable as a villain this time around. But I could still see the sniveling child in him. I hope to heck that he is not redeemed. He killed his father. Of course I was disappointed that Darth Vader was redeemed and that was before I learned he killed children...

I did not mean to say the only reason the war armada was there was to kill Skywalker, only to say he new Skywalker was his superior. I believe his actions were cowardly. In both movies Ren has come across as something of a sniveling, under achieving son. If he had a brother I’d expect Ren to...

I certainly have to disagree, IMHO. The three represent the passing of the torch to a new generation. They added a little kicker to that at the end when the little boy used to force to grab his broom. Rey and Finn work well for me. I’m a little iffy about Kylo. He’s not coming across with...

The guy they chose to write the article, sure didn’t like the movie. I loved the movie and became so absorbed in that for the duration of the movie, I forgot that Carrie Fisher had died. The movie could have been 10’ shorter.
