JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

Thanks Gregg. I hope you know my previous comment was not intended to question your credibility. I didn't even know you offered projectors for sale until now. Statements like the one on JVC's site can be intimidating to consumers like myself trying to ensure we do not have warranty or other...

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

AVS Sales? Do they have a web page? I can find no such company, in the AV space anyway. EDIT: I figured this one out on my own. Also, how can any JVC projector [sealed or not] be sold with full warranty online? JVC appears to expressly forbid it. Direct from their site: JVC...

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

I'm in the same camp as you. If I were interested I'd definitely need the S/N as shown on the product and then contact JVC for their take.

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

I've been watching this since it posted but can't take advantage at this point, having just spent a huge amount on a new center channel speaker. Maybe it could work for you, assuming the guy is on the up & up. https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649877701-new-unopened-jvc-nz7rs2100/

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

True. I would guess it can handle units slightly heavier [the new JVC's seem to be in the 55 pound range] and they're probably working on either a new design or planning to update their specs accordingly. Either way I'd be more concerned about the ceiling studs. No anchor bolts for something...

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

Not entirely sure what you mean by "box" mount. Also, a pic of your current setup might be useful. This is the nicest projector mount I've seen at any price but, unfortunately, they only sell through integration channels.

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

That's heavy indeed. Here's a pic of my mount. No doubt it could handle that weight as it's built like a tank and, yes, I need to do some dusting up there. ;)

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

Wow! That makes me feel a whole lot better about purchasing the Epson 6050 over the 5050. It cost an additional $1000.00 but came with the Chief mount and a spare lamp plus an additional year of warranty.

I would suggest Tron Legacy. If that doesn't convert you, nothing will.

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

For me the 3D dilemma is the same as that of expanding physical media collections. I own titles I may never watch again yet I'll always own them and I also continue to buy discs. Similarly, I haven't actually viewed a 3D title in about a year yet I would never own a projector that lacked...

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

My bad. I obviously wasn't clear in my previous post. If I buy another projector it will almost certainly be laser based, otherwise why bother. My Epson isn't at all bad. I just believe the day good JVC options are available in the 5K range may come sooner than you.

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

I'm one of those people but I'm also capping what I'm willing to pay at about 5K. Maybe I'm being unrealistic but this announcement suggests a year or so of patience might allow that to happen due to typical tech trickle down.

Perhaps but let's not tell JVC that.

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

We have a great community here and I love to hear how different folks react to announcements like this. The feedback can be invaluable. For me this means be patient just a little longer and we may see a straightforward 4K projector with great optics and 3D in the 5K range from JVC. Maybe I'm...

JVC Press Release: New JVC Laser Projectors Are World’s First With 48Gbps 8K Inputs

My thoughts exactly. I'm still excited as this does seem to bode well for that happening in the no-so-distant future. Until then I'll stick with my Epson.
