Been traveling again but back home now, hopefully for awhile. Any new developments? GIK Acoustics sent me a bunch of great training material to evaluate on their site but I haven't had time to dig in just yet. I'll probably go ahead and order the MiniDSP 2x4HD but I'm also looking forward to...
Congrats, John! I anticipated a post like this when you received those monsters. Neither of us are the same guys we were when we took delivery of those PB12 Plus/2's! Glad you survived. I've ordered these to make my life easier when I need to reposition mine.
I just got on GIK Acoustics' schedule for a room evaluation. Pretty straightforward process. You just describe your room and it's intended use, upload some photos [they tell you what is needed] and wait to hear back from them with a recommended plan. @JohnRice , if this is something you think...
Yep. Your suggestions are pretty much in line with what I expected and underscore @Sam Posten 's comments from the February podcast. There's always a tradeoff between optimal performance and real-world conditions. In my specific case it looks like it comes down to whether I want to optimize...

I'm wondering about the MiniDSP 2x4HD as well. I know you use one but I'm not understanding at the moment how this would be integrated so I've held off. Namely, how do make it play well with your Processor? How do you have yours connected?
My first response to this post seems to have disappeared so forgive me if this is eventually a double post.
You're correct. The green curve is the one measured after the first round of corrections were applied. I'll work on saving the files in a larger size but you can also zoom your browser...
I'm working through the videos as well. Almost done with the first one, which has already been extremely helpful. Unfortunately, placement options are all but non-existent in my room but I have been able to achieve marked improvement by just playing with placement [to the degree possible]...
Nice work, John! I hope @Sam Posten 's ban doesn't extend to this thread :) because my real-world results coincide with some comments he made during he and @Brian Dobbs podcast with @Dave Upton back in February. When I reviewed the SVS SB4000's I concerned myself only with audio and trying to...
