I had been gone from this thread for a while, but figured I'd pop back in.
I'm starting a run of watching TNG again myself. Starting at S1. Mostly because my oldest son want's to see it. He loves TOS, including the movies and the re-boot movies. He's never really watched TNG or any of those...
Well, after a break for a few weeks from watching TOS, my son and I were back at it last night.
"Plato's Stepchildren" was up.
This was always a weak one for me, but I haven't watched it in years.
Really painful to watch any scene where Kirk and Spock were puppets. Obviously intended to be...
I'll just say that I just turned 51 and loved Beyond. Much more than either of the previous two (although I did like the 2009 movie, but was really tempted to walk out of ST:ID when Spock screamed "KHAAAAAAAN!!!"... but we were already near the end at that point, so...).
And, I'm a life-long...
Just got through Metamorphosis and Journey to Babel this past weekend.
The gauzy background was used behind Commissioner Hedford (Elinor Donahue) in Metamorphosis. I loved the floating smoke cloudy look they gave to the sky backgrounds of the planet scenes in this one. Only done one other...
Or, obviously I did...
Okay... got that confused. My wife does legal typing work at home for someone who does a lot of court reporting for the ODC - Office of Disciplinary Counsel - when lawyers get in trouble.
OCD? Yeah, that's it. :D
I'll jump in here after a long absence. Didn't this start out as the trivia thread? :)
Anyway. A little over a week ago, my 19-year-old wanted to see the two-parter "The Menagerie". We've sporadically been watching the blu-rays for the past few years - maybe 1 or 2 every few months, so he's...
I'm bouncing in and out sporadically these days - usually during lunch, or before I head home, or on my phone on the occasional odd hour - so don't wait on me for now. I'm still trying to think of something for when the time comes. Even so, I'd be useless with anything after TOS anyway. While...
How about in "Where No Man Has Gone Before" - the hearing on what to do about Gary Mitchell? I don't recall if it was called an actual hearing, or just a meeting. But I like "The Squire of Gothos" answer above better.
I haven't followed this thread through all of the over 400 pages it's grown to. Oh, I've looked in every once and a while, but I'm not up on all that's been asked up to now.
Rats, you're right, I missed it. Looked right at Galileo Seven in Lee's post... and didn't go any further.
How about... The Doomsday Machine... another Commodore involved.
Must have been your local stations.
I've watched all those shows thoughout the early 70s into the 80s in both their B/W and color seasons on our local stations. "Gilligan's Island" too. Many in the afternoons after school... along with Star Trek.
A separate post here.
Matt Jefferies (equivalent to todays "production designer' and designer of the Enterprise itself) came up with the registry number for the Enterprise. There were many ideas floating about on where the inspiration actually came from. Some assumed it was based on Matt's...
Okay, here's a question.
Besides the stuff Nelson mentioned, what space ship did Wah Chang design for Star Trek?
He may have done several, but there's one in particular I'm thinking of.
I'll take the first one.
Fred Phillips: Makeup the whole series.
Robert Justman: Production for some episodes, but he also did some assistant directing as well for a lot more episodes.
