I placed my order early this time for two reasons- 1) When Fritz Lang's You and Me was on sale the last time I waited too long. Kino sold out and the listing was removed from their website for the remainder of the sale. This time I wanted to make sure I got it which I did. 2) I wanted to avoid...

Another color title that I consider film noir is Desert Fury (1947). I believe it's relevant to mention here since Kino released it. One of my favorites and highly recommended. It's part of Kino's current Winter Wonderland sale and well worth the price of $9.99.

Nice to see that Has Anybody Seen My Gal has a release date finally. Edit- rather ironic that I posted this on the same day as Ms. Laurie's death. What a great actress! RIP.

It did and I'm not confused. After a brief perusal almost all of these titles, if not all of them, are different from the last sale.

That's great news because I procrastinated! I have my list ready to go. Although I'm curious about the mind set of the 11.6% who voted no. Why would anyone vote against extending a sale?

Nice idea, but I doubt that will happen as Lumber Jack-Rabbit is a Warner owned property.

I quite agree with you regarding Esther Williams. I think her natural beauty was enhanced by the fact that she was an athlete, so she was always in great shape. Thanks for the reminder regarding Raw Wind in Eden. I forgot that this was its release week, so I've rectified that issue by ordering...

Ben, thanks for the recommendation. I bought I'll Be Seeing You on Blu last August from Kino for $6.99 while it was in their "While supplies last" category. Now I'm glad I did and will move it up on my "to watch" list. It appears that both versions of A Bill of Divorcement (1932 and 1940), The...

Truth! Years ago when I was a teenager I told my Mom that owning and loving old films (VHS then) was a much healthier addiction than either alcohol or drugs.

I don't believe it has. It was released on a double feature DVD with The Emperor Waltz.

Robert, I think sometime this fall. I believe Moderator Robert Crawford updates the release dates for Kino, but after a quick search I can't find it right now.

I read that Astaire didn't like the script for White Christmas, so turned it down. A shame in certain respects as it would have reunited Crosby and Vera-Ellen with Astaire, but I think Danny Kaye did just fine.

Yes, I recall the Insider making the comment that Crosby standalone releases aren't big sellers. Films featuring Crosby seem to need another selling point such as Astaire in Blue Skies, The Emperor Waltz directed by Billy Wilder and, of course, The Road series with Hope. I own all of The Road...
