I applaud Disney freshening the video scenes in their rides, but some riders may not be aware who those characters are if their Star Wars exposure has been mainly though the films.
And that's the beauty of subjectivity, or individual opinion. I love the diversity of potential reactions / responses / reviews of different types of media or content. The reasons for someone's opposing opinion may point to an angle I didn't consider.
My 20-year-old son loves the prequels as well!
I've never thought they were all that bad myself. For example (unpopular opinion, perhaps!), aside from the slow, clunky courtship of Anakin and Padme, I thought Attack of the Clones was pretty good (I rated it 3.5/4 back in 2002)!
I enjoyed AOTC back in the day for the action scenes. The opening aerial chase, Obi-Wan vs Grievous, the arena battle, and of course, seeing Yoda fight Dooku and a mass of Jedi joining the war (before team-ups like the Avengers became commonplace in cinemas) was a lot of fun.
It also had pacing...
