Regardless, if you bought the original version on digital then you shouldn't be getting a different version when playing it later. I keep around several different versions of a lot of movies.
Difference is the physical copies already sold wouldn’t be affected in that case. If you bought it on iTunes and they just change it later whenever they want, then that’s wrong. They should at least give you a choice of what version you want to see.
But how much would it have cost you to RENT those discs, assuming they were available? If you bought them, you could watch them far beyond the end of the year.
