Looks like there are no takers for my first-ever movie night tonight, so I'm canceling it. It's just as well... I have a lot of work that I should be doing instead. :)
I'm toying with the idea of hosting a movie night on Wednesday the 20th.
The movie would be one of the following...Star Wars (4 or 5 or 6)Identity28 Days Later
I'm certainly open to other suggestions, too.
I'm located just west of Lakeline Mall. Equipment: Panasonic L300U projector, Harman...
I think a separate poker thread is an outstanding idea. If I recall correctly, though, we already tried it and it got shut down for being too off-topic. Then a yahoo group (or something) was formed to handle the poker chat, but it didn't really take off.
A poker thread here on HTF is really...
If Hank can't make it, I can swing by Nils' to pick up the table/chips, but I wouldn't be able to get to Scott's until about 7:30-ish in that scenario.
I'm way overdue for a poker game. I'm busy on the night of the 4th. If it's Friday or Saturday at 7-ish like usual, though, you can count me in. And I can drive myself to the game! Hooray right-leg strength!
Hey, that's great news! Congrats, Jonathan. I presume his name is "Cooper", right?
I'm about to be the proud parent of a 3200 lbs 178" blue baby boy four year old myself. That is, of course, if the current parents go through with their decision to put it up for adoption.
Hank: thanks for offering a ride. :) I'll be busy this weekend, though; I'm going to be attending my sister's graduation, related party (parties?), and some other family-type stuff. When the next HTF shindig takes place, though, I'll try not to be shy about posting here and asking for a ride.
Woohoo!!! I can walk!!! Okay, more like limp or hobble. But still, I'm so glad to be rid of those infernal crutches after 2+ months. Now I just need to get me a stylin' walking cane.
My doctor still doesn't want me to drive just quite yet, so I'm still more homebound than I'd like to be...
I really, really enjoyed Donnie Darko. Although I'm not going to make the movie night, that'd be my vote. :D
BTW, anyone want to see more pictures of my busted-up car? I got to go to the towyard a couple days ago and see it in person. I realize now more than ever just how lucky I am... yikes.
I was very much looking forward to attending the Hayenga Poker Experience, but it turned out that I ended up going to the hospital, instead.
As you can see, I was involved in an accident. I had no life-threatening injuries, but my right leg did get buggered up somethin'...
Sounds like it was an awesome game. I was out of town, but I'll try to hit the next one. Now that I've seen "Rounders", I think my play will improve. :)
I did get some card-playing done over the weekend, though. My younger brothers (who live in Washington state) introduced me to "Magic - The...
Scott: do you know where to buy a bottle of Luxardo il Maraschino? I think I remember you talking about it at the last poker game I attended, but perhaps you were talking about maraschino cherry juice or something. P.S. - asking for a friend, who is looking for it.
You either think the nudity and sexuality in the superbowl halftime show is offensive enough to justify the "backlash", or you don't. I don't. I think it was a stupid thing to do, but don't think it's a big enough deal to justify the fallout.
I "agreed to disagree" at the very top of this...
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. :)
I'm right there with you on predicting a better halftime show for the next superbowl. It will be a more tasteful event... that much is certain. I bet music will still be involved, though. Hopefully they'll pick better music.
Steve: I agree that the halftime show was stupid, and a waste of time... but I'd rather have a young kid see that than see some of the more violent TV commercials in the game. I think I heard something like "By the end of the day, I'll be standing over your corpse, laughing" in one of the spots...
Scott needs one of these for his car. A tube headunit!
"An absolutely BEAUTIFUL retro-style by Panasonic. Winner of Mono's Super Goods Of The Year 2002 & the Popeye Digital Design of the Year 2002. Dual Analog Meters will really set your system apart! CD/MP3, Aux In, CD Text, 2 x Pre-Out...
Oh yeah, and I got a lot of King/Six hands. Like, 9 or 10 of them. The only time I ever won any real money from that hand is when I showed it to Mark (who had folded) and he promptly told everyone at the table what I had (with a king showing after the flop). He gave me a black chip to make...
The Hayenga brothers cheated, and used subtle signals from across the table to maximize their combined winnings. Okay, so maybe they didn't cheat. I guess practicing online had something to do with their domination of the table.
All of this talk is irrelevant. Tubes, with the home-court advantage, is going to take EVERYONE'S money. Practice all you want, folks... it's inevitable. :)
Scott: I'd like to drop by a bit early (6:30?) and listen to some tunes. We'll bring some beer for those who had too much of the hard...
I want to listen to those GR-T2's. Would it be okay if I showed up ~10 minutes early to give those a whirl without sacrificing any precious poker time?
I'll buy the set if the discs provide a way to watch the "original trilogy", but I don't expect that will be the case. I just hope they don't go nuts and add even MORE digital effects, stupid comic relief, or political correctness. Han shoots first, dammit.
