A wonderful pictorial tribute to the late and very lovely Andra Martin, Randall! I chiefly remember Ms. Martin for her appearance in the Clint Walker western Yellowstone Kelly, in which she made quite an impression with her beauty and poise. I will try and watch some of her TV work over the...
I've been contemplating setting up a Plex server myself someday, Rob, though it seems like an awful lot of work converting discs - especially TV-on-DVD sets. I hope to get around to doing at some point, though.
Wow, some great shows and line-ups on that MeTV+ schedule! Beats the pants off most any other cable or OTA channel out there. Enough to keep any classic TV fan glued to the tube for most of the day. Thanks for the link, Rob!
No MeTV+ over here in Japan, unfortunately, but luckily, I have my own...
Very interesting post, Randall! You're right, the premise to this one sounds mighty thin gruel indeed for a spinoff...but any chance to look at the exquisite face (and figure) of Diane McBain is always welcome.
Looking forward to your next profile of "Flight 307."
Thought the following might be worth mentioning here, despite not being surprising news or anything significant...A while back, I had sent an email query to the Warner Archive podcast, thanking them for their classic TV releases, especially their stable of westerns (such as Maverick, Cheyenne...
Another wonderful two-part review of what sounds like a fun episode of Hawaiian Eye, Randall! I mostly recognize Joan Marshall (in slightly older but still lovely form) from the excellent original Star Trek episode "Court Martial." Need to check out more of her TV work, which is extensive.
Great, epic two-part review, Randall! This looks like a cracking episode...right up my street, as I love Key Largo and "caught in a big storm" scenarios in movies and TV shows.
I have to say, also, that of all the (admittedly limited) WB detective shows that I have seen, Bourbon Street Beat is...
Thanks very much for posting that, Randall! Great to see all those guys and hear their stories (in between tons of commercials...so nice to not have to watch broadcast TV anymore).
Boy, you weren't kidding about Maharis' hairpiece...yikes! Otherwise, the guys all looked great...we should all be...
Russ recommended me to post these little reviews of mine over here (I generally post in the "What did you watch this week in classic TV...?" thread)...so perhaps you long-time WB detective show fans will indulge a newbie as I watch these series for the first time. A big thanks to Randall for...
So were yours, Randall...thanks to both of you guys! And thanks also for posting that Hawaiian Eye episode...really enjoyed that, the first complete episode I've seen of the show (and, apparently, the first episode of the series, with an official hand-off at the beginning from Stu Bailey). At...
Good to see you guys out and about...at least, here on the HTF! Hang in there, we'll get through this. Meanwhile, we need more Hawaiian Eye reviews, Russ - stat!
Great review, Russ! I'd sure like to be able to watch some episodes of Bourbon Street Beat...it sounds like a fun show. My main image of Nita Talbot is from her appearance as a chatty chick on a singles cruise with a werewolf onboard, in an episode of Kolchak: The Night Stalker in the early...
Hey, we're here, Russ! Some of us still have to work for a living before we can catch up with the fun. ;)
Good stuff as always! That looks like some kind of graduation photo of Mary Tyler Moore...does she look that mousy in the episode?
Been enjoying these Bourbon Street Beat, Hawaiian Eye and...
Yes, great review, Russ! And I'm glad to see you dig into another WB detective series...more please! Got any old tapes of Surfside 6 hanging around? ;)
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Randall! I'll try to get to an episode of 77SS or two at some point...have TV rips of several episodes hanging around here someplace, just haven't got to them yet. Might feel a little intimidated about posting my first impressions in this thread full of expert...
Great screenshots, Randall (and very interesting background on Trader Joe's and other L.A. stores, Rob)! You guys in this thread always have lots of cool info to impart...makes for good reading, even for a 77SS newb.
Hey there, Rob! Thanks for inquiring...I live in Osaka, Japan, so no ME-TV or equivalent here, unfortunately. That's why I buy so many classic TV series on DVD, otherwise I'd never get to see them!
Nope, not at all! Your posts, aside from being reliably entertaining reads, constantly spur on further conversation. Why, you even got Randall to post three of his great photo essays in the same day! Go on with your bad self.
That "Alimony League" episode sounds really interesting, and features...
Thanks for adding your take on Surfside 6 and Hawaiian Eye, Russ! I'd be particularly interested in seeing Hawaiian Eye because of Robert Conrad, since I am a huge The Wild Wild West fan...and of course, Connie Stevens ain't chopped liver, either.
