D'oh! I should've realized that, Bob...thanks for the correction. Guess I've got the TV series version of Colt .45 on the brain right now (having just ordered WAC's new Blu-Ray set). ;)
Not to go even further off-topic, but I've never seen the TV version of The Cowboys. Any thoughts on that...
Agreed that the name of the channel isn't the best choice, Bob...but Outlaw's schedule of movies and TV series looks quite good, and includes some episodes of the TV version of The Cowboys, plus The Adventures of Brisco County, F-Troop, Bonanza, and Kung Fu...and, as it turns out, an episode of...
Wow, Jean Rogers...what a babe!
Some great reading above, Bob and Bert. Happy holidays to you guys, and all the other classic B-western fans who peruse this thread.
I'll take a Ranch Hand Platter and an Ice Cold Drink, pardner.
Sadly, never had a chance to go to a Roy Rogers restaurant...don't remember any in the Western Washington State area when I was growing up.
Looked online and it seems there's still a restaurant chain under that name but only with...
Thanks for all this Rod Cameron westerns info, Bob...and for the YouTube link to Ride the Man Down. I've become a fan of Cameron's from his later TV work in State Trooper and Coronado 9. Need to see more of his earlier western stuff.
And if I didn't remember Chalita before, I sure will now!
Good to see you back, Bob! Great stuff as always...thanks to you - and Bert - for keeping this thread alive in these trying times.
And a special thanks for that Jennifer Connelly Career Opportunities gif. ;)
You guys are much more well-versed in classic serials than I, but a couple other "jungle" ones I have watched and enjoyed are The Phantom (1943, with Tom Tyler, who seems to be rescued twice every episode by his dog, Devil) and Jungle Girl (1941), with Frances Gifford.
That poster is an example of rare truth in advertising. Son of Paleface IS funnier than the original. And what a gorgeous looking movie to boot.
Speaking of gorgeous... Jane Russell - rowr!
Great stuff, Bob! Those old western comics look really cool.
Must confess, though I was a big classic movie and TV fan growing up, I never really got into comics. I liked the few that I saw, and even collected a couple dozen in my late teens, but never really got bit by the collecting bug...
