The IMAX run has ended, but I'm seeing a small number of showings this weekend in standard digital auditoriums at my usual theater (Veterans 24 Tampa).
I hope I get the chance to see this theatrically again someday. What an experience that was. I don't think the film works quite as well at home, which may explain why some consider it to be lower-tier Nolan. I think it's one of his best films, but I realize I'm in the minority there. It...
I still think it's far and away the best film of the year. Saw it twice at the theater and the second viewing made it even better. I asked for the closed captioning devices both times so I had zero issues with the dialogue.
I'm looking forward to watching it a third time with the new 4K release.
I saw it in IMAX this evening. I'll start by addressing the common complaints about the film:
1) Many have said they missed as much as 50% of the dialogue because of the way the sound was mixed, Having read that ahead of time, I immediately requested one of the closed captioned devices when...
Here's the link to the info from the drive-in that posted it.
The same kind of argument is often made with arthouse films around Oscar time. "Well it's their own fault for only opening it in NYC and LA. Therefore, I'm just going to download this Oscar screener." It's still stealing...
I absolutely hope you get your wish. I did however just read that Tenet will not be released to any drive-ins that are in areas where indoor cinemas are closed. That seems to indicate that they are going to hold out a while on those last few states that still aren't open yet. I could be...
Our local IMAX at the Indiana State Museum has been doing that for a few weeks now. They've run Interstellar, Dunkirk and Dark Knight Rises in 70mm, as well as the other Nolan Batman films in IMAX.
I'm sure it will be brought back theatrically at some point either later in the year or perhaps next year. There will be a lot of people like you who want the theatrical experience but aren't ready to go yet.
If anyone is curious how theaters may adjust when they finally open, here's the info page for Spring Cinemas. It's a multiplex in Atlanta that just opened on Friday. For those that said the concession counters would be closed, they are indeed up and running (as is the bar with 6 foot...
Universal just announced that they are opening their theme park in Orlando on June 5th. It seems crazy to think that theme parks will be open, but theaters won't be ready a month later?
