i did get it a few days ago, but i ordered it first or second day of the sale on B&N cause i didn't know amazon was going to price match, i mean they typically do, but i guess it was FOMO for sure. i ended up bundling it w/Uncut Gem 4k for free shipping... but they shipped both packages separate...
my guess there is probably a legal reason to destroy it (rights holder wishes) but that also (not us of course) anyone could take the same disc and request free replacements in the future and unsavory folks selling disc1 on ebay, etc.
lets not forget of course one of the primary reasons for criterion is extras/bonus and thus far the majority of 4k releases have not ported onto 4k discs and left it on blurays. the only title i have seen port most/all is super 8 which has been a 4k disc only.
i know it’s apples&oranges but yet here we are citizen kane with dolby vision hdr. i still dont understand or comprehend if analog film has more or less colors than what hdr brings to the table… or is hdr simply a digital only feature but that certain stocks analog film can “record” more colors...
